What would you get, if you could get just one?

Teknic Chicane Textile Pants
Gossett Defender Jeans

So I'm looking at getting my last piece of gear and I'm down to two choices.  600d Cordura pants with an extra layer in the knee and the butt, or kevlar jeans with knee, butt, and hip coverage. What would you choose?

first ones for sure. I have something very similar. although if they are nylon type material they get really sweaty and sticky in the summer. I recently got some alpine star leather/textile pants with knee pucks. love them

First one.  With armor.

Between those two, the first, full coverage.

If you can come up with a little more, consider these:

Since armor is included, and there's also hip padding. But there's also a style difference which may or may not work for you...and more money.

I have leather overpants and kevlar jeans, but I voted jeans...but only because if it's all you have I'd imagine you'd be more likely to wear the jeans EVERY ride.  Jeans are never are out of place, even if you're going to a nice restaurant or hanging out with your friends.  It's pretty hard to talk yourself out of wearing them every ride.  They probably suck in a crash, but I like to pretend they won't.

These are by far my favorite of all the pairs I've ever owned.  They're cheap too.

so shorts are straight out?  The codura pants are going to provide more protection than the jeans I'd think, but you might wear the jeans more hrrrm.

Ditto on the jeans.

Two main joins in Aust are http://www.dragginjeans.net (Kevlar pullovers too) and http://bikersgearaustralia.com (where I got my Kevlar jeans from)

But, of course, if you are into making a statement at Starbucks, then you either got to go squiddie or full on gear like a racer. Then just ride to Starbucks and hang.

What's the best gear to get? The gear you're going to wear. Does no good getting gear if you're not going to wear it cause it's not practical to or a nuisance to.

Thanks all...I'm gonna go with the Cordura pants. Jeans are nice, but I prefer the better protection. I don't mind the sweat. I do mind blood. I actually have separate knee armor and the knox cross armored shorts to go under the pants. The shorts come with tailbone protection which a lot of pants with armor are missing.  No statement making for me. I plan on riding away from people, not to them.  :icon_eek:  If I happen to run into anyone that doesn't  like what my gear is stating.... :flipoff:
