It's kinda ratty, but a lot of fun to ride. Currently 29k and change on it, and I'm still riding it.

I need something a bit cheaper to ride. This thing guzzles gas and destroys back tires, so I need something a bit more economical. 650 twin perhaps? Suspension work would be nice... I can't add any cash on top, sadly.

the good:
runs great
MIG half exhaust
SATO rearsets (could be replaced with slightly rashed stock depending on trade value)
flat black, how I like it
Buell headlights
freshly rebuilt forks (Ractech seals/bushings/.95 springs)
fairly new stator (9k on it)
Galfer braided SBK lines (front only)

the bad:
dented tank
one minor crack on the tail plastics
paint ran onto the frame, would look better if the whole frame was painted black. I'm likely fixing this soon.
small dent on the left side of the frame, right under the VIN tag
some rash on the left side of the swingarm
some rash on the clutch cover, scuffs on the stator cover
right frame slider has minor wear, left is a little scuffed
slightly bent rear wheel, still holds air and rides fine

the ugly:
got run over by a semi, and the rider died

the maintenance:
chain (520 x ring, DID I think) and rear sprocket (steel JT) have 8k on them. 2 front sprockets, 15 and 16 - probably respectively 5k and 3k on them, also steel JT. No rust or anything on the chain, regularly cleaned and waxed.
could probably use a valve adjustment, no clue if it's been done
have an APE CCT that needs to be installed
tires are 209GPA AMA spec tires, med front med/hard rear, in good shape (maybe 500 street miles on em, plus I suspect one race and one trackday)
brake pads are fairly fresh SBS street pads
spare subframe
spare 530 sprockets with minimal wear, can toss in a brand new 530 X ring Parts Unlimited chain for the right price too
spare (ebay) supposedly good rashed stator cover with stator
spare bent clipons if you want em
spare headlight for the right price (stock headlight)
stock bodywork, some still in excellent shape, included... but some is pretty trashed

CLEAN CA title in my hand

I'd really prefer trading it for a different bike to selling it outright, as I don't want to be bikeless... but it's gotta be something that's good on gas and tires, and not too bad on other maintenance. However... $2500 OBO, and I can certainly take some off if you don't want the rearsets.

Let me know what you have to trade for it, or how much you're willing to pay :teeth

oh, and... test rides available with your cash (full purchase price) in my hand. if anything but the tires come in contact with the ground, you keep the bike and I keep your cash.

the above post is copied from what I'm posting on several forums... I'd also be happy with a GS with a cartridge front end, a decent shock, and some cash.

Most of "the bad" could be summed up as "This is a stunt bike". You forgot to mention the bent left handlebar too.

so how much cash are you looking to get in trade for a decent gs500? I'll see if I can post my pics up again but basically, minor upgrades (drag bars, R6 Rear Shock, Soon to have GSXR Front End, veypor gauge, Bridgestone BT series tires-not sure what model but good track style tires., ummm no plastics, ummmmm, D&D R6 exhaust, uummmm..........oh yeah, jets (150 / 40), K&N Filter, r6 LED integrated tail light., led front turns

Except for the fact that this isn't a stuntbike. Do I do a wheelie or two every once in a while? Sure. But I've spent WAY more time on the bike in the twisties than I have doing stunts. Hell, I've spent way more time at the track (Buttonwillow and Streets of Willow Springs) than I have doing stunts of any sort.

The tank was bought dented, because the original was destroyed when the bike got run over by a semi.
The tail plastics were cracked in the same incident.
The paint ran because I was impatient.
The dent on the frame was from the same incident.
The rash on the swingarm is from the same incident.
The rash on the clutch cover is from spinning up a tire in a slippery intersection less than a mile from the dealer, and crashing.
The scuffs on the stator cover are from rubbing against the trailer when tied down on the way back from the track.
The wear on the right frame slider is from the new tire crash mentioned above. The scuff on the left one is from a zero speed drop.
The rear wheel was bent in the semi incident.

The gearing on it since I got it has been either stock front with 2 larger on the rear, or -1/+2. That's more friendly for street use, but far from stuntbike gearing - that would be more like 14/60 than the 15/45 or 16/45 that I've run.

So, to sum it up... the bike has never (at least since I bought it, immediately after it got run over) hit the ground due to stunts... and it looked to me like it was a fairly clean bike before it got run over, with stock gearing. Any literbike you buy will have been on one wheel some, mine's no exception... but it's not a stuntbike.

Don't be a douchbag and assume that it's a stuntbike when it isn't.

Also: pretty sure the left bar isn't bent, the bars were just turned a little in the pictures.

You wanna deliver from AL? I don't really want to ride a sportbike the 3000 miles otherwise.
