Makes a good tool tube or something to ziptie on the frame. The AVD guys usually strap it in on a heavily farkled bike. Dunno why there'd be flaming though.

I'm trying to figure out how John Deere figures into this.  You sell them?  As for easy tool holders, I put them in my tank bag.  Big magnetic tank bags rule.

I think you knew your post was at least somewhat confusing.  That's why you were expecting a flame war, and you didn't really get one.  For a flame war this one is lame!

Subtly trying to derail any help I'm trying to bring.

Thanks for posting this I been looking for something like that for my tractor....seriously that's not a joke I bought two one for my Kubota for small tools and one for the bike should I decide to put it on.....crap should have bought one for the ATV too

...and what makes you think people want to waste time to read a 29 page thread that can probably be summarized in 10 lines? The "free if you know someone with a JD" comment makes me wonder what the guy with the JD thinks of that... "huh - the scumbag neighbor done stole my manual storage tube and stuck it on his motorcycle - guess I'll have to run over his motorcycle with my tractor." Free gets expensive really fast that way.

The welding rod storage tubes won't need any holes plugged up. Grab some stainless hose clamps and old inner tube for padding to mount them, as most don't have that little leg off them like the tractor tube.

I use ammo boxes for tool storage on my tractors. The manuals take up several feet of shelf space inside.

Seriously, can you post a current link to where we can find this for $4, or is it a DIY project with PVC or something? No sarcasm, I am new to the site, but this does look interesting.
