:flipoff: I stopped by the only bike shop in town today to kick tires.   Most of the salesman know me and just let me look...they know i'm not gonna buy anything lol...but I had to break in a new salesman today.  He was following me around and finally asked what are you riding now.   I said the GS and he went out to look it over.  LOL he came in and left me alone, going back to the parts area.   No more conversation, see you later, nada :D.   Now I can go back without being hassled lol.

I just bought my GS about a month ago now and when I was looking, I went into a local Suzuki/Yamaha dealer to have a look. I talked to the salesman and he asked what kind of price range I was looking at and I said "Cheap". He starts showing me and Interceptor and GSXR in the range of $5000-6000. I don't know about anyone else but that is not the "Cheap" range. I told him I had a ceiling of $2k. He instantly said "We have a couple older bikes in the back" and walked away. I take a look and he should have said antique instead of older. As I'm walking out, I hear him and another salesman/manager(don't know which it was) laughing about my $2k budget in one of the offices.

About a week later I found a 2005 GS500F on Craigslist and go take a look and bought it. For $1860 with 4800 miles. I went back into the "stealership" to look for a cargo net and the guy that had laughed at me was sitting at one of the desks in the sales area. I walked up and said "Remember me? You and your buddy laughed at me for wanting to buy my first bike for less than $2k. I just got that one (pointing out the window at it) for $1860!" He said, "Wow, nice bike" and got up and walked away!

Ha! Jackass!!!

Sorry to hijack, this just reminded me of that!

Vehicle sales can be a tough gig. Most sales people who are in it for the long term, learn to build relationships. those referrals can build up!

Great deal on the '05!
