Back to square one.
Thought the 5G Nano was the perfect gadget for me:
-itunes
-digital FM radio with tagging, rewind
-video camera for onboard stuff
-decent remote controls that can work with gloves
-slim, easily mounted with velcro (even to my helmet if I want, like my old Shuffle)

Then I notice - no stills, unless you wanna capture frames from the video.  Bummer.

I honestly don't even need the video.  Just FM radio, something that'll play my iTunes folder, and a decent camera, in a small package.

Is that really square one now? I still have my walkman that plays cassette tapes if I want to listen to music on the go.

I give up on this newfangled stuff I went back to 8 track. :icon_lol:

I went all the way back to Tube amps and records ...

Miss Ipod (my wife) a few days ago blurted out "vinyl sounds damn good" and then we danced to bangles "walk like an egyptian" as the kid looked on in dismay ...

Cool.

Has anyone seen one of these ?

Still pretty pricey.
Battery life might be as worse as the Shuffle - only 5 or 6 hours.  You can't listen to the Shuffle while it's recharging, though.

I'm using of these, but it only has digital zoom and no video:

Clips to anything, and is decently resistant.  $50, and a 10% employee discount from a helpful Best Buy dood.

fm radio, camera, gps (hey, why not ? ) and water proof ?

the old sony w300i is a decent flip phone, does google maps (just barely), decent camera, fm radio, and syncs with itunes (itunesmywalkman) pretty well. good battery life.

add a couple of zip lock bags and take it on the bike.

does video too. remote (part of headphone cord) control of music/calls/radio also, handy for riding. earphones SUCK ASS, so by some noise cancelling KOSS gold dudes off amazon for $30. you'll thank me for that last part.

anything else sir ? :+)

That sounds perfect!
Teensy weensy problem - I like my phone to be separate from everything else.  Emergencies + dead batteries once too often.
It's better than a $1400 GPS unit, though.

Hello, person on the internet on who's advice I should trust with my life.
A car charger?  Gee, what is that?
Is that one of those things that don't work when you run out of gas?  When you wreck your bike, and it won't start?
When you've woken up on the shoulder with a broken pelvis, and your phone is in your tankbag?

"But, you can keep it in your pocket while it's charging."
Yes, I could.  And enjoy being tethered to 400 lbs of momentum, low-siding across lanes.  Scrambling to find a wire cord, as a silver Freightliner is bearing down on me.

Not that any of that's ever happened, or anything.

Kind of reminds me of Marvin from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

I just use my shuffle 1gig. I usually only have to charge it once a week and I ride just about everyday. I've washed and dried it twice. It went flying down the road at 35mph and still works.

I have a regular ipod video but would cry if it went flying down I-4. As far as my cell phone it stays in my jacket pocket.
