So it's been just a few short weeks after getting my 89 GS500--and joining the forum--and I discover that the head has been severely damaged by long-term super lean operation. And now I'm in the market for a new-to-me head, instead of replacing all my valves, guides, and seat. Anybody have a healthy gs head that they're willing to part with?

I'm disappointed that my first post on the forum is asking for help replacing such an easy thing to maintain.

I have one.  No cams in it tho, but that really shouldn't make a difference.  Let me know.

Thanks for the response, fastedmiami, but in an example of my bad timing, I just bought a head off of eBay about 10 minutes before you posted. If the guy turns out to be a deadbeat, though, I'll track you down again.
