Repairing Paint Damage

I'm not sure how I managed to do this, but I have some light scratches on the fuel tank of my 09 GS500F. Does anyone have any recommendations for fixing this issue (and not making the situation worse)?

it might come out with some automotive mild rubbing compound (abrasive wax) and a coat of wax?

Thanks guys. I'm going to try wax first, then take more agressive steps if necessary.

I think I figured out how those scratches got there. Last week I hopped off the bike to remove a big branch that had fallen at the end of my 600 ft winding wooded driveway. Got some dirt on the right knee area of my jeans. I'm thinking those scratches occured where my knee made contact with the tank during the subsuquent 30 mile ride. Duh.

And here's another boneheaded move. I used a heat gun to remove that white and orange warning sticker on my tank. Worked great. Unfortunately I did the same thing on one of the stickers on the back side of the fairing. The sticker came up, but so did a half inch of the underlying black decal accent. A black vinyl dot now covers that area.
