For those not following the news, the East Los Angeles wildfire has now swept into several inland empire cities.  Some friends and I  went up to the hills and filmed some of the fire, which as of right now spans more than 12 miles across.  The fire can best be described as a raging sea of flames that leap up into the air, swallowing trees and power lines like leaves and twigs thrown into a campside bonfire.

I've never seen anything like it.

Unfortunately for me, this means no more Mount Baldy-Glendora Ridge-Glendora Mountain rides - which is in my opinion the best combination of roads in the LA area.

But its hard to think about that when dozens and potentially hundreds of people are losing their homes.

Hoping that the winds shift and the fire dies,

That's scary stuff.  Thanks for the reminder. I'd better get out tomorrow and do some fuel reduction or I'll have that same picture in my back yard this summer (Southern Hemisphere here, remember).
