The accessories I've picked up since I got my bike in January are a tank protector, chain lube, and Cortech Super 2.0 Tailbag. Not nearly as much as some of you other guys have done but still better than nothing!

I did a fresh oil change and i cleaned and lubed my chain.

Last two days after work.

Installed Gas tank bushing.. how the previous owner lost that I have no idea.

Replaced right side float bowl gasket. Finally adjusted float height.

Left side float bowl height ok:

Right side float bowl original: (NO its not on the kickstand)

Right side after first attempt..not bad:

Thoughts on plugs? ~500 miles since installed. No chop here just a quick pic.

Right:

Left:

Installed Saddle bags. Grabbed these brand new off Craigslist. Fit well. Think the wife will fit on the back with them as well. Wish they were expandable but this works for now.

&

Also adjusted headlight height.

Cobra they made an FR1 and an FZ1 (?) I believe.

Came on my bike when bought, but when researched I think it was 120-200?

Sad part is I have not rode or heard a stock GS500 so I have no idea compared to stocker. Its actually running a dynojet stage 1 kit and I was very careful when rebuilding dialing in the carbs. I believe its all dialed in. Pulls well above 6500 all the way to 11k.. really doesnt drop off at all. Its got ok pull under 6500. Again I dont have a base, but there are no flat spots above 6500 rpm at all (or anywhere) just noticeably more power above 6500

I think it sounds pretty good, but have not had anyone over to ride it for me to listen either.  :nono:

I may make a quick video tomorrow and upload it.

What have I done for your bike today????

Not much at all. I put some ethanol free gas in that sucker and I rode it. That's what I did for it. That is what it told me it wanted to do.
Why are you looking here?

Ah what the heck.. whats the point of living in the country with barely any neighbors if you cant go out and rev your bike when its almost midnight.

Garage door is closed here so its a bit of reverb.

Dont mind the dirty bike I was caught in the rain last weekend and have yet to wash it. Been too busy riding it and working.

For the first time in a bit, I made some progress.  :woohoo:
Went through all my wiring, now things like the starter motor, tail lights, indicators, turn signals actually WORK again.
Cut the ends of my grips and installed my bar end mirrors.
Recharged the K&N drop in.
Traced out my fenderectomy.
Then I put the recently painted tank on the bike, dropped in some fuel and started her up for the first time since November. She started right up like it had been only a couple days.  :icon_mrgreen:
Cut the headlight mounts to fit the HID headlight (paint to come soon)
Rebuilt my gauges witht he new dampers, and LED's

What's left until my project is finished (for this season anyway):

Paint and clear my plastics and front fender once I get the paint. 2K clear came in  :D
Paint and install gas cap.
Swap out my front master cylinder with one from an 89 and bleed the lines.
Figure how I want to mount my integrated tail light.
Drink beer and rejoice.

Below is how it looked when purchased:

And how it is currently sitting (sorry for bad pic. I take a new current pic next time I get it outside)

Got a dyno run done yesterday:

Huge 32hp... some of the guys think the dyno reads low though  :dunno_black:

All I know is I need to drop down to the 145 main jets and drop the needle one notch... so rich she's off the charts at 5K RPM!

Not one damn thing. I gave all of them the day off.
Did yard work, moving some black bamboo and other stuff.
Scrubbed the floor of the Bike Cave. Amazing - other than some stains, that floor is intact in 50 year old concrete. Armorpoxy is what it is. All the work we've been doing and dropping tools & parts and no chips or peeling at all.
Also touched up some dirty paint on the Bike Cave and fixed up a target area for the air guns.

Finally delt with a couple of the major pet peeves left on my bike that I wanted to fix like the toushy lift and fender elimination.

For more pictures visit my thread in the projects section.

Keep it classy gsers!

Dropped my mains to 145 and dropped the needles one notch after my disturbingly rich dyno run yesterday, see how she runs tomorrow  :thumb:

Sounds good man, not too much of an improvement though, but anything is better than stock  :icon_lol:

Possibly sold the GS500 tonight.  Prospective buyer sent his father around tonight to view it, prospective buyer then rang me and wanted to put down a deposit while I get the roadworthy.  He'll test ride it this weekend and then decide.  Hopefully I have the roadworthy by then.  Will be sad to see the GS500 go, but I'd rather it go to someone who can ride it instead of me just having it there sitting idle.

Now I just need a buyer for the Intruder.

Should be a good ride.

Took the old girl for a 400km run today, a bit cool at times, but bloody good fun anyhow :-)

Ive been working on a lot of other bikes here recently and got tired of being on my knees so I bought a new bike table lift. Works great and I love it. It could be longer though to hold some of the stretched bikes Ive been working on so I might extend both ends a bit. Maybe.
