Can anyone recommend an adhesive to reattach the suzuki plate on the clutch cover?  It was the only other casualty.

I'd probably wipe a little JB weld on it. Not sure if it would get too hot for normal metal glue.

New engine installed today - original engine had developed death rattles in the balance shaft... wasn't keen for it to lock up whilst I was riding at speed!
If the previous owner of this engine is on the forum (complete bike sold to KawiKing on the NSW South Coast) thankyou!  :thumb:

Replaced the rear shock linkage(yesterday), and the exhaust with new to me parts. Also tried to get an MoT booked for tuesday.
She sounds so much nicer, smoother and quieter now there's not a gaping hole in the side of the silencer  :D

Took to liberty to shear off the tip of the camshaft bearing bolt =) thanks murphy!

Ordered a MotoBatt MB10U AGM battery and a battery charger. Removed Buell turn signals to lengthen the wires to reduce/eliminate pulling. Cleaned and lubed chain.

Was this rattle only when you pulled up at intersections or lights? And id it sound like a knock then went away when you revved it? If so it is probably only cam end float noise. A common non lethal GS tick.

I installed Buddah's fork brace this arvy. What a Buddha Loves You of a thing to install. You got to pull the entire front tyre off to get to the nuts under the front fender.

Just installed my Zero gravity windshield, in the dark. Get pics tomorrow when the sun is up.

Not necessary to remove the front wheel to change the fork brace or front fender. There's a way that takes just a few minutes. When weather warms up here, I'll post pictures of how to do it. Hint: A 6 or 8 inch flexible extension for your socket wrench/nut driver is critical.

No the knock/rattle was almost louder than the engine at cold idle and was apparent during most revs... except for decel. The engine also bucked in the frame at idle suggesting it was not running in balance. The original gearbox also had a heap of backlash in it and made it horrible to commute on - the new box is silky smooth  :thumb:

i measured my gsxr forks with gs neck to build a bushing for my front end install. added a k&n lunch box. cant wait to get this thing on the road. the 30 degree temps here in Idaho might have a thing or two to say about that.  :D

Think I found someone who wants to buy my bike. Thought I had a little more time than that but it sounds like he's hoping to get his tax return and wants to do things ASAP(weather permitting). I was gonna get it inspected this week, clean the carbs, adjust the valves, bleed the brakes, clean up the tail swap, and try to repaint the whole thing before I sent it on. May do the brakes and clean up the tail swap this week, try to inspect it on Saturday, clean the carbs saturday afternoon, and then just have him bring it back someday to do the valves. Doesn't sound like he's too concerned with the paint. Had this bike since 2003, it'll be sad to watch it go...

Now with a more painted solo cowl

The color is slightly off, Subaru's World Rally Blue Mica is the closest I can find. I might try to mix a little white in it to lighten it up.

Try dropping down to 4 Oreos and set your pilot screw 3 turns out.

Bought a set of rear brake pads to put on her tonight.

Well finally took pictures of what I did to it last Friday (its friday in Australia at the moment. YAY! works over for the week.) Which was to fit the zero gravity sports touring windshield and the sliders (sort of)

Also you can see the Sliders from T-Rex on which I'm waiting for the new engine mount bolt to mount properly in this second photo.

Its not what I did today... Its what my girlfriend did... she buffed my pipes, they look really nice...
