Do the coppers in QLD hassle riders on aftermarket pipes and fender eliminators much?  That's a tidy looking Gixxer that could look even better with the bulky stock pipe and mudguard removed.

Like mister said, they do get you when doing a blitz, but most of the time you're pretty safe unless you're being stupid or its overly loud.
In the town im in, the cops dont really know anything about bikes so its not too bad.

I'll probably get an exhaust and fender eliminator at some point, but the first thing i'll be doing is putting some short levers on  :thumb:

If you can feel the wind in your hair... you need to put a helmet on.

Freezing today. Trey and Junior started just fine (They have the LiFe batteries). Suzi was a beiatch. She's been getting fussy about starting lately. Battery level was OK. I remembered she didn't have her LeFe battery yet. I was going to video the installation. It was freezing so WTF screw the video and get Suzi running. Removed her original OEM battery (probably 2 years old, heavy use, started like 3 to 5 times a day). Put it in - new LiFe I bought 3 months ago. Right out of the box and never on a charger. She stated first time. Runs better, too!

Re-routed power for accent LEDs and Denali Fog lights so they are off when starter pressed, That took all of 30 seconds to do.

Played with different levers for Suzi. Didn't like them. Switched back to ASV (the black one in the picture)
Clutch uses an SV650m perch. H4 perch can work, too. Just order a custom cable from ProMotion with 90* bend rather than the 45* bend. I have more levers for the junk bin  Can't say I never tried them  ;)

Found Trey is leaking gas from the carb bowls. Clue is the longer he sits, the longer you need to crank him. Putting on PRIME helps. We do see some gas around the back of the carbs. Even a drop or two per hour would drain them in 5 days. So we discovered we heed to rebuild a set of carbs for him. Have one set of 89-00 carbs so I'll rebuild those then swap them into Trey, Glad he has the LiFe battery. You can crank 1 minute until it shows down. Wait a minute and the battery magically recharges and you can go another minute. I LOVE these LiFe batteries. Trey hadn't been started for a week. Carbs were drained. Was able to do a lot of cranking - like 2 minutes or more. Once gas got in the carbs he fired right up in 1/2 a turn. So this winter: carb cleaning for Trey.

LiFe battery in the box for 3 months or more. Freezing in the bike cave. Put it in Suzi and she started right away. That says a lot for these batteries.

Completely tore flick down today. Getting to the valves. I have half compression on the right side. Buying a new top end. Boy you better run after this.

If you can actually feel the road, you've fallen off.  Adjust your riding technique in future.

If I have to do a lot of cranking when I'm tinkering with a vehicle, I'll put the jump pack on it to spare the battery.  They're a very cheap addition to any garage, especially if you don't need one big enough to start a big diesel.  I've got a 900A starter that was cheaper than any car or bike battery I've ever bought, and just sits on a wall charger till I need it.

I took Phenix out of the box then got him licensed. 1993 frame from Florida. The PO did a nice paint job - which will save me a ton of time. Just have to dust off Phenix and start adding useless accessories like wheels and a motor.

Phenix because he's rising out of the pile of parts in the bike cave to ride again. (6 character limit on personalized plates)

Yes - he has a valid Washington license plate. No inspection or emissions for older bikes - so yep - you can title a bare frame.

Watch the story as it continues in the build section for the West Seattle GS500 Bike Build - now we're doing 2 of them at the same time.

Gave Junior a MosFet regulator. Already having the LiFe battery, his electrical system is in pretty good shape now.

Yes, he needs a washing from all the rain lately.Airbrush's rear hugger really helps keep the rear end and suspension clean. Notice no crap on the dog bones and rear shock? There is a little crap on top of the hugger, but that's what fell from the rear fender. The hugger keeps all of it off of  the rear suspension. This is proof they work!

I moved my bike from one side of the carport to the other. That is the most she has moved in 9 days. Been needing the car to carry things. Think I'm having withdrawals. Got to take the car again tomorrow to get its pink slip.

"...in the New Year, baby...you'll see..."

Winter is starting to get serious around here...snow and ice everywhere...three months, then I'll be looking for the keys again...
