BrianRC did a great job fixing Thumper's carb and getting him running again.
Then he took HUHSKY for a test ride.
The lower fairings still have to go on and the purple wheels.

Politely asked some one to remove their Camry-flavored cage from it's right foot peg.....

(grrrrrr)

Made some brackets to install a windshield from my previously owned Concours that I had cut down. Rode about 50 miles to try it out, seemed to block the wind very well without any extra wind noise. Also mounted some of the GSXR rear pegs on the front brackets as in Wiki.

:D cool bikeneil! .. that screen setup is bigger than Jay Leno's chin!! .. how does it 'feel' handling/vision wise?

So you've got a KawaZuki  :icon_razz: now all that's missing is Yama and Hon  :icon_lol:

Janx101, the handling seems unchanged but have not fully put it through curvy road testing yet as winter roads have grit on them. Vision is good, I can still see over it which is how I like it.

radodrill, I have a Yamaha, I'll see if I can find a Honda part to put on it.

Flushed the front brake fluid tonight. Since my ride on Sunday the front brake has been dragging and I've got over 2 years and about 24,000km since the new brake line etc. so I figured it was time for a flush.

Lever feels firmer and rolling back and forth seems freer, see how it feels on the commute tomorrow.

Twisted, your comment on lever travel on Sunday led me here... I think it shouldn't have been quite like it was...

I took it out for a ride   O0 first ride since i bought the bike!  :rstar:

Front brake is still dragging but the lever feels awesome...

Had a close look and I've put a cable tie around the line to help it stay in the guide on the lower triple clamp as the braided line is narrower than the old rubber hose and doesn't stay by itself.

I can see that it has been rubbing on the line and I think I have it too tight. Will cut that off today and see if it improves on the ride home.

Went to licensing and switched registration so Thumper could have the original plate. Odd - before I was told 40 years but today they said I can do an original plate after 30 years. Anyway, it is the ORIGINAL plate that Thumper had in 1973.

Nice one Addy! Wish I could've done that but over here if your rego ever expires you need a new plate...

Check the laws for antique and collector vehicles.

$67 to switch the registration to an owner-supplied-plate. We can do it for collector registrations at 30 years. As long as it is the correct plate for the year of the vehicle, you can use it even if you bought it off of ebay. They hinted that even reproductions would be allowed because she commented that my plate was a little ragged and I explained it was the actual plate that bike had in 1973.

The only thing is if I get pulled over, I have to show the registration and point out where the old plate number is in an "equipment" field and the plate box on the registration has now just a reference number. If they pull it up on a computer, they have to know to look for that other rarely used field to see the real plate number so they don't think the bike has an expired or stolen plate.

The people at the West Seattle licensing office are always helpful. Not a typical DMV office by any means.

Here in WV if you have an original instate plate for the vehicle year, that plate is clearly legible, and the number is not in use, then you can request to be assigned that plate number and use the original plate.  Restricted use (weekends and special use e.g. car club meetings or parades) you can have the original plate as is, but for general transportation you have to affix a registration sticker for the current year.  And here the classic/antique vehicle status is for any vehicle 25 years old or more.
