I really don't know what I can do about this. The picture looks good here, some people can see it, etc. It's in a Google shared album so it should show. My guess is something else is preventing you from viewing it that's not strictly related to the image URL or the site here but more some kind of content filtering on your device or network.

I can't see it on my PC nor my Android, both on WiFi and 4G, and I set up my home network and have zero content filtering.
Even when I get the image URL by quoting your post, and navigate to there, that doesn't even show me anything.

Do you have a link to the album?

I don't find image hosting a PITA but I've been doing it since I've been on forums, so I've been doing it for many years.  Just need to pick a good hosting site (I use ImageShack), upload, copy/paste URL, done.

Yeah this is the album:

Something weird going on for sure. It's just too much trouble for me to move photos to some other site when they already and automatically get put on gphotos and the shared album method works for like 99% of people.

I can see that one, cbrfx67.  However you got it over works for me.

@ mr72, looks good!  Why #2 on one side and #9 on the other?

Why #2 on one side and #9 on the other?

I couldn't fit 92 on one side with the 6 inch numbers I had on hand.

Psyching myself up for installing my newly arrived shock.

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth wondering why I couldn't get my carb to run correct at idle, after pullling it apart, cleaning it to an inch of it's life, replacing all O-rings and going to a #20 pilot, following MR72's instructions but still having it randomly stall at idle I've finally figured out the problem.

It turns out doing a valve shim change and putting in shims that make the valves too tight causes compression loss, and our dear GS doesn't like to idle with compression loss. Put the old shims back in and although my box-of-marbles rattle is back when cold it now idles like a champ and runs perfectly.

And at least the #20 jet has made it pull better from stop that it even used to before I did the shim screw up. Lessons learned, and at least I can pull the bike apart enough and get the carbs off in about 10 minutes now. :D

Refreshed the bushes under the tank, the inner bush rubber had worn so the tank mount has steel on steel contact. The large doughnut bushes have also compressed so I inserted a small rubber spacer to hold the tank a little more tightly but still have the free play its should

Switched the high rise clip-on bars to a normal bar, and rear sprocket to a 46

discovered more melted wiring, nonfunctional rear lights, melted ground wire and melted/open wiring and connectors on the reg/rect. Replaced/rebuilt all of that. Should be good for another month or two ...

Stuck on a shiny new rear rotor. It was long overdue. I'd love to know what caused the old ones to get so many groves.

I bought this cheapo Chinese one as the genuine ones are ~€80, I think.

The big fear with Chinese ones is finding out it's made of chicken wire and paper maché but it looks solid and fit exactly.
Only difference is it said min TH 5mm instead of 5.5mm on the disc but I don't think that is anything to be concerned about.
I'll let you know how it works out.

How did the wires melt?

mr72

it's a well-known problem that the connector between the stator and the regulator/rectifier can often melt (mine did). I eliminated that connector and the wiring pigtail it was connected to, connecting the stator straight to the reg/rect. Then one of these wires melted between the stator bullet plug and the reg/rect, and also for who knows what reason the main ground wire that goes from the reg/rect to the battery also melted.

Of course, the root cause is unknown, besides the fact that the reg/rect is known to dump a ton of heat onto the wiring. So my truest guess is that the reg/rect is going belly up and caused wiring meltdown. But who knows. Hard to say. 26 year old wiring with plenty of corrosion and oxidization over the years and numerous overheating cycles, just finally went south.

Cut down and re-drilled the center stand stop on my aftermarket exhaust (which hasn't been right since I bought it 6 years ago lol)... removed the 1" raising links and R6 shock, re-installed the stock links, modified an SV650 shock to fit, installed it, adjusted the chain to go with the higher lift and took it for a ride. I like it!!
