VERY Cool. You should consider chopping your subframe, it would look sweet without the plastics. Whats that silver thing mounted on the frame in front of the valve cover?

Hmmmm, I wonder if I could get one on an E. I guess I'd have to swap heads. Hrm.

Nice.  Naked's better!  But I can't see front turn signals?

might want to remove the fairing brackets as well, but I'm lovin' that head light! It looks sexy.

Thanks for the  :thumb:!

The brackets also hold the oil cooler lines so they have to stay...unfortunately. The turn signal bulbs are zip tied to some of the other wires nears the headlight. I am absolutely lovin' the way it rides now. Truthfully, it went from a wanna be sportbike (to me) to a sexy fighter. These lights are super bright too, a lot brighter than stock I think. Man it's just awesome!

This all started because I low sided in my gravel driveway a month ago (too much front break). I painted the plastics and was getting ready to put them all back on when I was looking at pics on this site one day, user "Homestyle" got me thinking of going the fighter route and using the "F" headlight instead of and "E" headlight. THEN! I found pictures of fighters with the dual headlights and I was hooked. I have to admit, it was a frustrating experience at times but I'm happy with the finished product.

I'd love to chop the seat and subframe but my wife loves to ride with me and that would axe that ever happening. The only other things I would like to do is maybe put a full system on it one day and possibly and chin fairing...who knows. Also thought about painting the tank black with a 3" strip of gold in the middle to match the new handlebars...now that would be sexy!

Isn't there any way to remove the brackets and use zip ties (like the one that holds the release cable for the seat) to hold the oil cooler lines?

I don't get it? "Street Fighter" = Idiot that takes and GS500F and turns it into a "regular" bike with ghey headlights, dorky mirrors, and rusted pipes? Explain this one to me?

Hey JB, you say I'm an "idiot"? You're the one who can't communicate intellectually a differing opinion without being an @$$hole about it.

this thread needs some estrogen  :police:

can you post some pics of where the oil cooler lines go please?
ive yet to see an F model up close to have a look myself.

Looks like a good start to a streetfighter project.

You should cut off the parts of the brackets that go to the fairings and just leave the part that holds the oil cooler lines instead of leaving the whole bracket.  Also I would say if you are going to repaint the tank to be black and gold then use that paint scheme to go through the whole bike and start painting the fork legs, motor, exhaust and truly make it bad a$$ looking.

I still personally like the look of fairings but hey thats me.

Someone needs some attention.

Are those bars the Streetfighters? I just put those exact ones (even the color) on my Speed Triple. I love them.

Thanks what other mounting hardware did you need? Or did it work with the stock brackets?

I ordered the "Deluxe mounting brackets". They're about $60 but worth every penny. I slid the tubes down out of the triple and slid them down the tube and bolted them all back up.
