Dilemma

So here's my dilemma, I have a 2006 Ninja ZX6R, the 636 model, and a 2001 Ninja ZX6R I'm considering purchasing. The 06 has 11k miles, and a piece of bottom fairing missing, but otherwise in good shape, and the guy wants $3800 for it. My second option, the 01, is spotless, has 10k miles, and he wants $2700 for it. Which should I pick? The only problem I have with the 01 is that it's carbureted, and the 06 is a fuel injected bike. But it's also 1100 cheaper, and a bit cheaper on insurance, not to mention it's not missing a fairing piece.

Opinions?

that is a tough one.

06 - fuel injected is more reliable. but since he has a piece of fairing missing it might be fair to say he didn't take care of the thing well.

01 - good condition and cheaper.

i would say go for the 06 if its good mechanically (not sure if it's possible for you to check out the bike like that). otherwise the 01.

I actually went and sat on a 2001 VFR800 after I posted this, the pre vtec fuel injected year. Man, that thing is amazingly comfortable, I'm kinda leaning towards it over the ninjas now since I do a fair amount of distance riding.

Yea, it is the gear driven model, 2001 was the best year for the VFR. It has 30k+ miles on it, but I don't think thats too bad for the v4.
