Pre-Service Check List?

Hey,

2 of my buddies in DC also have '02 black/silver GS500E motorcycles.  Yeah, I've got a GS500 gang... anyways, we're going to assembly line the oil/filter and other service points (gotta get my checklist out of the manual/Clymer's) but was wondering aside from the standard tools and a valve tool/valve shims, anything funky come to mind that I need to have ready?
