**SOLD** Thanks for everything guys.

Once again, I'm listing a for sale thread for this bike. I fixed it up this summer, I love her and I really don't want to sell it, but the start semester has rendered me broke and hungry, making a fraction of the money I made last semester, and something has to go.

Since I've had the bike I have:

-repainted the tank and fender, White with BRG stripes
-replaced the battery
-replaced the rear brake line and reservoir
-bled the brakes
-added front turn signals
-added another LED brake light
-rebuilt the top end of the motor (moot point apparently)
-wrapped and sealed the exhaust
-replaced the motor with a 10,000 mile motor from an '89

Before I got the bike it had
-a Katana FE
-a Veypor Gauge
-new tires (currently less than 700 miles on them)
-new pads and rotors
-a recently powder coated frame (metallic black)
-full yoshimura exhaust system
-diamond star headlight modulator

I've ridden about 1000 miles and it rides like a dream, its not perfect or museum quality, but it's a great, awesome looking little bike. Almost everything on the bike has under 1500 miles of use, she's going to last for a long time to come. One of the valve guides is a little worn, and every 3rd or so time I start it cold, it smokes for about 30 seconds. That's not hurting anything, and is an expensive repair, so I've just been keeping an eye on the oil level.

I'm asking $1600 fairly firm. The bike is located in Harrisonburg, VA. An inordinate amount of money has been spent on this bike, between the previous owner and I. Now that she's finally finished, I can't afford to keep it. :-/ Hopefully someone can pick this little thing up and enjoy it, and I can save up money and try to buy another bike next spring.

how did you attach the license plate?

Built a bracket that mounts on the chain guard, its lighted as well, so its perfectly legal, at least I've never had any trouble with it.

Interested?

no not really... I'm not even sure what I'm doing with mine right now. Sorry it didn't work out for you, seems like a nice bike. I'll buy and hold it for you until next summer so you don't have to sell it!   ;)

Haha, that would be awesome. I'm hoping someone on this board will buy it and finish up the cosmetics so the bike will be more or less perfect.

My plans if I were to keep it would be to re-seal or replace the tank, and then eventually repair the paint bubbles. Then I'd paint the motor and some of the hardware that's a little lacking, and then this winter I'd buy another harness and build a really clean, professional looking wiring harness for it. Getting this little guy to showroom/bike show quality wouldn't be out of reach, just a lot of painting.

Either that or someone could build a really sweet track bike out of it just by putting a belly pan, catch bottle and safety wiring it.

I hate that I have to try and sell it in the fall. I need it to go quick, I'm running out of money quickly and I need this thing to go.  It's just so fun to ride, and its hard to admit defeat. But the truth is I'm a college student and I got myself too deep in a project and I've overextended what I can afford.
