wow. the ignorance of some people. not that i would ever buy or wear a half-helment. but i would most certainly own a harley. fine machines. i've found that almost everyone who bashes them, has never even ridden one. and they love to bash the type of people who buy them, calling them "motorcycle wannabes". if you're ridding two wheels, i don't see you as a "wannabe". you simply are. a motorcycle rider. harley isn't going anywhere. get used to it.
finally a homeowner!

I wouldn't say it's ignorance - there are certainly people that fit the stereotype. Here's the best examples i have:

My sister in law's fiance has a V-Rod. He never put it in a trailer, rides it to Washington DC every year, hell he bought the bike in February when it was 25 degrees out and rode it home. He wears Harley shirts from all over the country (but bought them at each location - not from a catalog) and is actually getting a Harley wedding band. My sister in law on the other hand has no intention of learning to ride, buys the pink Harley outfits because they are "cute", and never wants to wear a helmet since it interferes with her "style".

And one more example: a couple months ago me and some friends stopped at the bar for a couple drinks. We were outside smoking when a guy pulls up on a nice Sportster. And because we love everything on 2 wheels we go over to check it out. The guy gets off the bike, walks right past us so we ask him "Nice bike - what year us it?". His reply was "Get the F*** away from my bike. If you knew anything about motorcycles you wouldn't even have to ask". Come to find out from the bartender, the guy didnt even KNOW what year it was. That's why he got so defensive about it. He bought the bike without knowing anything about it - except it was a Harley and it would make him look "cool".

BTW Mister - that listing us hilarious. Thanks for sharing.

I dunno about that.  I read two months ago Harley is thinking of leaving Milwaukee.
V&H pipes, K&N drop-in, seat by KnoPlace.com, 17/39 sprockets, matching grips, fenderectomy, short signals, new mirrors - 10 scariest words: "I'm here from the government and I'm here to help!"
