hello i recently had a minor collision and am in need of parts my bike is a 92 gs500... parts i need to get it back on the road: factory handlebars(minimal surface rust and straight), headlight assembly or bucket, chrome outer ring, and the glass bulb housing h4 style, I also need the part that clamps the brake cylinder to the bars(right mirror bracket), clutch and brake levers(preferably black), rightside cover plate(the 4 inch circle plate that goes on the stator engine cover with the suzuki plate on it Black),red colored fender from 91-93(might be 92-95 the color is italian red marble i think), black screw in barweights. i have ordered forks i hope they are in good shape they are sheduled to arrive next week but there is some minimal pitting in use area and will need new seals and wipers. so i might also be in need of fork tubes ill have to check them out and see what kind of shape they are in when they get here. if anyone has any of these parts feel free to message me with price and shipping costs to 17319(etters, PA) also a clymer manual if anyone has one laying around they dont use.

Bar ends: yes.
Handlebar: no. But I do have the factory clip-ons if you want to switch to those. (See pictures I've posted)
Levers: You can get new sets on ebay for $10-$20.

Check your color code at colorrite.com. I may have the red you need. I think it is the same candy red as the tank in the back of the picture. I have that color paint and was going to touch up a red fender. Not sure if that fender is your color as it is a little faded. If no one has one, I could paint one for you that same factory color 19A. The tank in the front may be the color you have, which is lighter and brighter. I don't have that color - 28V.

It is the Candy Antares Red color code 19A

Good luck finding the round stator cover - EVERYBODY need that. That's what always gets scratched on the right side.

I am LOADED with all kinds of tail pieces so if you need one, give me a picture of what you need and I'll check "the tail farm" for a match. If yours is busted and you were going to repaint, I can send you a fugly one to paint that is not broken.

The Buddha

Round stator cover in billet aluminum 35 shipped. This guy is thick ... 3-4 times thicker than stock and made from 6061 Strong stuff. Last few left, may not make any more really. And if I do it will be more $, cos aluminum has shot 2-3 times since I made these 3 years ago.
Cool.

thanks for manual  as for the fender i saw 3 on ebay all my color(the bright red on the closer tank). unfortunately mine is twisted and crinkled or i would just pay for you to paint mine, but with the total cost of a used fender in decent shape then to have you paint it, with all the shipping from me to you and back im thinking it would be easier to just buy one from ebay for 50 bucks... im thinking thats the route to go unless something else comes up cheaper. I figured that cover i might just have to wait and get lucky or buy new but worth a shot posting. As far as the clip ons go i dont think i'll like the change in riding position as i really am very comfortable on longer rides and i dont wanna lose that comfort so i think im going to stay with the factory handlebars. tail sections were a ok on my bike but thanks anyway. i do appreciate very much the help youve provided me with so far. ill have to get back to you on the bar ends i think i saw them on ebay for like 3-5 bucks... i did see these carbonfiber look handles http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1989-2010-Suzuki-GS500-GS-500-500E-500F-CARBON-LEVERS-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4cf27ad51bQQitemZ330485650715QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories i wanted to know if anyone has used them and if they are durable/comfortable? Edit: i saw buddha posted about that billet aluminum cover do you have a pic i am very interested and want to know if you can paint it the gloss black to match the engine or have pics of it on the engine

I had a set of them and I think they are pretty fugley. Go for plain black.

If your red was 19A, then I would have just painted two fenders (I have a few extras) and sent you one for a few bucks. Unfortunately, our red is different. Shop around - you should get a fender for under $50 if your patient. Depending on your color scheme, black might be good. Is there a picture of your bike somewhere?

I PM'd Buddha about them as I want them, too. When he gets back to me and I get them, I'll test paint one as I have a '92 with black engine. I have the "novelty black" factory paint and the necessary primers so I will try painting. If it doesn't look good, it is aluminum and the paint can be removed and painted again. It is a mater of getting both the right black and the semi-gloss sheen. I love trying things like that.

UPDATE:
Clutch lever plain black:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360127674756&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMESINDXX%3AIT

Adjustable brake levers in black are easy to find in the UK or Germany. Non-adjustable black are available in the US. ASV makes a compatible brake lever but is over $75. No compatible clutch lever from them.

Bike-It is a brand from Europe. They're OK except problems with the black clutch levers. The paint is thick, so you need to file it off the top & back side where it goes into the perch. Also the slot for the clutch switch is not deep enough. Had to mill it deeper. Use their brake lever and get an OEM clutch lever. If you don'rt need adjustable, then brake lever is easy in the US.

I'll put up some pics sometime later today. I'm looking for an adjustable brake so it kinda sucks to hear that.
I think I've made up my mind about handlebars. I'm gonna just get factory replacements and be done with it for 75 bucks. I think im gonna try to paint the headlight ring and bucket with black grill paint and polish it up thats if i can find one.
My frame has already been painted black along with the wheels and when i bought it it, but it had some minor things that needed changed for my liking. They had the regular aluminum finish handles the headlight is still chrome ring with like a champagne colored bucket :dunno_black:.. the signals stick way out still and the rear fender is factory and needs chopped. Was my first bike so I thought I'd baby it with bell ray super clean lube and that crap is gunky and I hate it and after reading a few posts about Wd-40 doing the job much better I think I'm gonna switch. im also thinking about putting a redstipe on the black wheels and painting the triple trees, handle bar risers, instrument plate, fork bottoms, black as well. My current forks are bent so I'm gonna rebuild them with progressive springs over the winter. sorry to get off topic I'm excited that I can turn the negative(wrecking my bike) into a positive situation(customizing my bike to my liking).

Btw thanks for the link on the clutch lever.

I'm also curious to see how the side cover buddha has will look too. I see your pretty good with paint is it something you do as a hobby or business? The reason i ask is farther down the road i may be interested in purchasing a new tank fender and rear plastics and doing a custom color so if i feel like being a different color for awhile i could just swap it out since finding the parts is pretty easy and relatively cheap.

So you can get an idea this is what my bike looks like but with black wheels and frame http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=48444.msg545012#msg545012

Parts are always coming and going on ebay. If you're in no rush, just wait and a black brake lever in the USA will show up. Just the carbon-fake-look ones I think are just plain fugley.

I think I have a good set of tail pieces like that bike in my "tail farm". They breed like crazy with over a dozen sets and some separate singles of lefts and rights. If you want to change the look and not have to paint (maybe just a slight touch up followed by a nice clear coat) show me what you want. I might have those tail pieces. I have a few different ones of red, black and red & black. I change for the fun of it and really confuse the heck out of friends that think I bought another bike. My 92 is going for black with red & silver accents - but different styles of tail depending on what week it is.

I've got some nice tails that are black with just a GS500E logo and some black with silver taping. I think having some design on the tail adds to the appearance from being plain black. You can buy a SUZUKI silver logo and put that on the tail. I did that on the tail my bike had because it was painted flat black. added that then a high gloss 2k urethane clear over it. Of course, this week I have the black tail with the red and silver stripe. Next week might be a different tail.

No need to paint black then polish. You can get gloss and semi gloss engine, muffler and other car parts paints. Or paint then apply a gloss or semi gloss clear coat over it. Duplicolor has some that are pearlescent and change hue depending on how light hits it. You can get a spray on clear reflective coating from them. Looks clear during the day and reflective at night. Be creative - move away from being just plain black.

Its been mentioned before, but for high quality paints go to http://www.eastwood.com/
and for factory bike colors go to colorrite.com . If they don't list your year, use the WIKI color chart then just enter the color code and you'll be able to order it.

finally got a few minutes to get the pics up anyway here they are... oh btw i think my side cover can be sanded smooth and repainted it the rash isnt as bad as i first percieved. I did find that my tank might need some attention as it has some chips that are starting to bubble the paint with rust. i think my triples are fine the appear to be straight. fender, bars, headlight, and levers are officially done. my frame needs a touch up along with the caps that fit into the frame. everything else looks good im going to have the exhaust sand blasted and the entire thing painted black with high temp paint. http://s100.photobucket.com/albums/m12/dftones99/motorcycle/

Tail pieces don't look that bad. I have a set or two of the same ones in "the tail farm". A little touch up and a good clear coat does wonders even for the worst tail pieces. I've got sets of black ones with a GS logo that are pretty sharp. Some with silver stripe and a logo. I change the tail pieces often just for the fun of it. My favorite is in the photos of Junior: black with red and silver stripe. Add a little detail when you paint so you're not just "another bike someone blasted with black paint". Boring!
Have fun. Get "How to paint your motorcycle" before you start. Tons of useful painting and prepping info.
