CR450 (?) Petcock Fuel Line Routing

So, I got myself a CRF450 petcock, or whatever it is that everyone recommends. It seems like it'll mount up well, and lets me get rid of the stupid vacuum system, but I've got an issue with the line routing now. So, for right now the petcock is just hanging out in the middle of the frame. I'd like to fix this. Anyone who has the replacement petcock have a picture of how it's mounted and how the lines are connected? Does the line from the petcock to the carbs need to be extended, or is the other lines also?

Thanks!

this is the petcock that has the 'fuel-to-carb' line facing the back right?  yeh i believe you need a longer hose. remember to switch it off when not in use.

i didn't like that this one doesn't have a auto off function.  the newer model petcock from 04+ are also an option. you'll also need the new hoses.

ivany

Correct, the "petcock output" bung faces the back of the bike on this petcock.

Is it just a longer hose for the petcock output? The tank to petcock hoses can be kept the same? This is for a 2000 GS, btw.

you have to double check the diameters but the length for the tank to petcock lines are fine if you mount it in the same location.

ivany

Diameters are all the same. I've got it hooked up and running right now. Just can't mount the petcock in the right spot.

Looks like I'll be looking for some 5/16" fuel line - is that the right size?

it's a mm spec and i believe 5/16" comes close.

not sure you could measure yours or maybe someone else remembers. i'll double check when i get home today if anything

ivany

I'll try 5/16" and see how close it comes.

Any chance someone with the 450 petcock can post a photo of their fuel line setup?
