Getting ready to detail/paint the Brake Discs, what temps Max. do Brake Discs reach? 500 Degrees? 1200 Degrees?
Have you learned the lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you? Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed passage with you?

Steel stars to turn red around 500 DegC and at 1200 DegC the disc would be a silver puddle on the floor. Remember also that DOT 4 brake fluid starts to boil off around 240 DegC....less if it is wet.

In normal use (non Race) and after a prolonged period of use, say a long downhill section I doubt they would see more than 200 DegC tops

Thanks, I bought some VHT Caliper paint, rated to 900 degree's....I got it on as directed and baked/cured it in front of my Propane Turbine Heater...Just want to make sure it would flake off when the discs get hot.

if painting the calipers, shouldn't be an issue.

if using caliper paint to paint the inner hub of the brake disc, make sure not to get it on the friction disk

I taped the friction surface before painting...
