I have installed many HID kits before but this one that my friend got for me has a relay as part of the wiring kit (never seen that). Anyways I just finished installing it on my 2005 Suzuki GS500F and it doesn't work... When I hit the switch for the brights the bulb moves like it's getting signal but fails to power up everytime. I thought it may have been a bad ground but I even ran wires straight to the negative terminal and that didn't change anything. This is my first time doing any electrical work on a bike but I don't think that is hindering me to much. Any help would be appreciated and yes I did search for solutions.

The ballast might be bad. I bought a HID kit before and it didnt work for me also. I found out that they sent me a bad ballast. The same thing that you described happened to me. Here is a diagram that might help you.

Take the hid kit over to your car, and run a wire directly from the car battery to the ballast. Only do this with a bulb hooked up. Very easy way to check to see if the ballasts are working or not.

If it will light up there, then you know the issue is somewhere with the bike and not the ballast.

This is why I don't use a hi/lo kit. When I flip the switch to high beams, I disappear :ninja:

I finally figured it out. My ground was bad(the wire I attached to the short one provided by the company), but worse yet the ballast was bad. Luckily they sent me a kit for a car so I had a backup. So I'll be sending that back within the next couple days. Thanks for the resposes!

nice. thats something they check for on state inspection which means ninja = fail :(
