I don't know about y'all, but it's about to get cold here in GA. My Icon merc 3 textile jacket just aint going to cut it for my daily commute. So in looking for a new skin, I stumbled across this.

http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=277639

I had a Joe Rocket back in the day that was a size 48 (metric). Does anyone know how this compares to a 'large'? I know JR makes a good solid jacket, and this one retails at $499  :icon_eek:

Try dropping down to 4 Oreos and set your pilot screw 3 turns out.

Well a quick googling found my answer. Anywho, what do y'all think of the jacket? Seem like a good deal, $130 for a $500 jacket?

Well I went to the link you posted and being that I am not a member of that forum I can't see the picture. Joe Rocket is a great brand of course and a leather jacket for a 1/3 of the price? If it is in good shape go for it!

I love my joe rocket textile for warm weather, I couldn't find any of there leather jackets that I liked (but I think that was an aesthetic decision) personally and ended up with a Scorpion sport leather jacket, which actually pushes a surprising amount of air threw it (it does have some perforations and the liner or a thin hoody keeps me nice and toasty warm on sub 50 degree mornings so far). So I would just do some quick research about the jacket and make sure it will be warm enough other then that 500$ jacket for 130$ ..... if there is no damage, its not infested, or contaminated, I say go for it!

As an alternative seems like everyone and there cousin has a sale on Alpine star gear right now, you may want to look at them and get a new jacket for within the same price range (sub 200$ pre tax)

It looks perfectly new, he says it's never been used on a ride, just tried on a few times. And the pictures show that it is in perfect shape.

Man that's a sweet leather jacket and the price is right for sure. I have Red and Yellow so I'd look funny with Blue :thumb:

Sounds like a good deal. I picked up my Texport when it started getting cooler and I love it. Rode to work this morning with 40%F and crazy low wind chill at 75mph with no problems. Now to figure something else out for my hands...
Edit: Apparently that works out to around 10%F on the wind chill calculator...damn.

Yeah, last year on the coldest day of the year for my area it was about 19 degrees. I lost a bet and had to ride to school in shorts and flippy floppies. I havent calculated it out, but it's a 45 zone all the way to school from my house so 19 degrees at 59mph . . . . it was rather chilly.

Here are some pics of the actual jacket, from dude's ad. I just paypal-ed him.

I've noticed a lot of pictures aren't showing up anymore Michael what's the deal? A lot of Aussie links are unavailable here to on a regular basis? Has anyone else noticed this?

redhenracing2

Interesting, it shows perfectly fine on my screen. Hold on and I'll re-host.

These should work. It's wierd, photobucket wouldn't upload them from the url so I had to save them to my desktop and then upload. Odd.

I also have on the way, a new Joe Rocket helmet sized (and styled) for any lady-friend I may have along with me. Interesting enough, I never had that problem with the gs . . . .  :icon_mrgreen:

Looks very, very nice you made out like a bandit! Now once you get everything assembled I think we all deserve a picture with the gear?

Kind of like this!

redhenracing2

You know what, that gives me an idea for a new thread . . . . .

What? I have a bad feeling about this!

redhenracing2

Well it's on the way. It'll probably get to my house before I do, I'm 900 miles away working and won't be back until next weekend.
