Hi,

When I was riding the other day I noticed that one of the bolts that connects my fork to my front fender is missing.  I also noticed that the bolt the holds my rear brake fluid box in place under the seat is missing also.  Are the bolts, particularly the fork bolt, a standard type that I can get at home depot?  If so does anybody know the correct size to get?

Thanks

don't know the sizes but I lost the front fender bolt too some time ago. I found replacement in my garage so I assume it's common size.

Take on of the remaining bolts with you when you go to hardware store and you should be able to easily find it.

You could also check website like bikebandit, they have those pictures with description of every part on your bike so maybe size will be there.

good luck

The bolts are standard. Just remember they're metric. You want to buy the stronger screws. Don't try to save 50 cents with the cheap screws made of softer steel. You want the fork screw to be strong.
Or just order one. Only a buck or so. Most hardware stores carry metric screws these days.
A local Suzuki dealer would no doubt have them in stock.

(Don't know where you're located. As most people never enter their location in  their profile. If you were local, you could just come over and get the bolts you need. I've got lots of assorted bolts from those box-o-bolts I've bought from bike breakers.)

Get used to the missing bolts. Seems to be one of the GS's best magic tricks - now you see it.....now you don't  ;)

I found a fender bolt missing and something else. That's why I bought a couple "box-o-bolts" from bike breakers. One was $25 and weighed about 30 pounds. Included pegs & mounting plates, brake & shift pedals, heel plates, grab rails, kick stand, springs, hoses, clips, switches, bar ends, lots of bolts, lots of nuts, washers, chain, sprockets and other stuff and even a rear shock mount. All from a downed 2009 with 244 miles on it. Yea! like new spare chain & sprockets!

And don't you hate taking things apart then misplacing a screw or nut? Not a problem anymore thanks to the box-o-bolts.
