What is this hose?

Hello. I've been taking apart the bike and I found a hose not attached to anything. It starts behind the battery and comes out at the bottom of the frame. I have no idea what it is, one end is complete flat, the other end is tapered (pics below).

What is this hose?







1995 GS500E. Mods: Katana shock, fenderectomy, 2000+ tailight conversion, blacked out rims.

battery vent hose?  is there a hose connected to the right side of your battery?

Looks like the hose that connects to the tube on bottom of gas tank to drain off water from around the filler tube.
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

It's not the house on the right side of the battery.

gsJack, I think you're right. Do you I need this hose to be connected or can I run her without it?

Ok confirmed on the battery filler / drainage hose. Reconnected and all done.

no, dont use that hose to fill the battery, just for overflow.  to refill your battery, unplug the red plugs and fill each cylinder to the fill line.  if you need more info on that im sure theres several threads about, im just letting you know not to use that hose to fill
