rea tire and handlebars??????

i have a 2004 suzuki gs500f and i was wondering if anyone could tell me how wide of a tire i can fit on without any or little modification possible? i also want to lower the front and eliminate the stock handlebar setup as its in the way and put on clip-ons but what can i do to get rid of the stock handlebar clamp setup so i dont have them just there and look dumb?

140mm, and take a hacksaw/grinder to the handlebar clamps. Sorry that's so short, but I'm tired.

Here's a picture, now that I've got some sleep. I didn't grind mine perfectly flat. If you put some more affort into it it would look nicer than mine.

You can mount a 150 tire on the stock rear rim with no modifications except putting a little bend in the brake torque rod which will come very close or touch the tire depending on brand of tire.  Quick and easy to do with a few hits with a BFH.  A 160 tire will come close to or hit the chain and require further mods.

My back aches at just the mention of clip-ons.     You can lower the front end about an inch by moving the handlebars out of the way with the GenMar or Motech risers or even the cheapo junkyard risers should give enough room for an inch upward movement of the tubes in the triples, see the Wiki.
