Happy New Year everyone!  Shortly after the stroke of Midnight I rolled out the GS500 fired her up and went down the street and back for my first ride of the new year.  Yes, it was cold, I was cold and the bike was cold but I just wanted to do it for the grins and giggles and maybe wake the neighbors.

We had a random burst of 50 degrees and sun today in Pittsburgh so I got in a little over 100 miles today. I think it's gonna rain tomorrow so I'm probably done, but it was definitely a good new years activity.

Only downside is that the melting snow did a good job of keeping the roads wet and gross. This is what you deal with when your bike has a super short tail. Plus the front of the motor is a giant mess. I'm gonna be going at it with a toothbrush for hours haha

Salt wasn't too big of an issue, just mud that had run onto the roads from the snow melting.

You guys suck!!  It warmed up here too...it was -30C on Thursday, and now it is -12C...roads are still covered in ice (in the neighbourhoods anyway)  I don't think I will be able to get a ride in until March...if it warms up sooner, maybe in Feb...but I'm not holding my breath...so quit whining about mud... :flipoff:

Later.
