On Saturday I sold my 2006 Buell Blast that had 1669 miles on it when i bought it it had 452 miles so i got some good use out of it in three just a few months of ridding but i wanted something a little  different and that day i found the perfect bike a 2000 GS500E with only 2400 miles on it. now that i have this i want to slowly make it my own right now I'm looking at getting a used tail section that i can have a friend paint now here soon I'm looking at getting a different front light style then i herd about putting the gsxr front end on it  ;D which i think would look great if any one has any advice on what parts i should use or if you have any ideas that are cheap since I am only 16 and just had my second wrist surgery in my right wrist and was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes so cheaper the better let me know thank you
here is my ridding gear and my bike

Put a few thousand miles on it before you decide what modifications you really have to make.

I agree. Before you start changing how she rides, you really need to know how she rides. Then you can decide what changes - if any - you need to make.
Cosmetic changes like a new tail - go ahead and do those as funds permit.
Changing the front just because you hear others have done it may not be right for you. It may ride fine for you. With your GF on the back, that's different so you need a bike that works with and without her. maybe all you'll need to do is change the fork springs and the mono shock. You won't know until you ride her for a while then ask "She does this..... and I'd prefer this..... so what do you suggest?"

Example: I bought a really high end rear shock (forget brand - American something or other and is blue with nitrogen cylinder - and its in the garage where I don't feel like going at 2am) just because I heard it was cool and really good. What have I done with it? nothing. I'm pretty happy with how Suzi and Junior ride. Yea, they do ride different; Suzi is softer. But then Suzi is my SUV so to speak - longer distances and grocery store because she has a rear luggage carrier and full fairing. Junior is my sports car - naked, cafe style, he rides a little stiffer and is more for fun and cruising the beach.

I have a hard time deciding to change the rear shock for a change in ride that probably won't make me any happier. So the shock will probably be up for sale shortly.

Do consider the factory clip on bars. Everyone that put them on loves them. 10 minute change over. Change top plate and move controls. Simple. If you don't like it, re-sell them. Those bars do not go down in value.

I wouldn't go too crazy on it. An inverted fork conversion will likely cost you $1000. Kinda like putting a lift kit on a VW Beetle. You can do it, but why ? Maybe if it just something you feel you need to do, but it's a weird Harold mod.

There are lots of things you can do to improve the stock suspension of the GS without spending a lot of money - the search function is your friend.

Well I am starting out by just cutting off the stock license plate holder and turn signal and replacing them with this really clean looking Targa kit it is only made for the 03 and up yzf R6 so it might need a lil bit of help fitting but should be no problem looks like it will fit right into place right between were the stock turnsignal were. and the also bought a led light to mount that will light up the license plate i do not know how to pust pictures on here so i just but them online here is the link

Thanks toogoofy
the hardest part of this if any one does it is cutting the old license plate holder straight since it is just one large piece that goes all the way when i started i thought there was two pieces but i like the way it looks now way more then stock now ima consider getting the matching front turnsignals
