Just brought him home. Now he needs a name. Number-3? $1000 for him. Only 12000 miles. I put the German seat on as a welcome home present. He came with perfect original seat and the leather gel seat. Also had a windshield. Guess I'll have a few extra parts for sale!

You forgot to add #3 to your sig. Looks like a good start!  :woohoo:

Mine was bright yellow when I got it! How's that horn sound??

what kind of windshield did you get? I've been browsing ebay lately for a cheap one before I ride to DC this spring.

adidasguy

The horn - well - like a f*****ing truck! Dual air horns!
Here's the windshield. I don't want it. He said it is great for commuting. Mounts with 2 brackets on the bars and one on each upper fork. Removable. I do not think this is a cheap windshield. A quick scan shows they go for $150-$200. Nice. Too bad I don't need it or want it.  I have an original "E" fairing I found in the UK in the original Suzuki box that will go on this bike.)

Make an offer.

I'll probably put the gel seat up for sale, too. I have the custom German seat which is already on him. The factory seat is in perfect condition.

centuryghost

The factory E fairing is going to look sick with the dual headlights!

How 'bout "mellow yellow"?  :icon_lol:

I have the fairing so I can try it and if it looks sick, take it off and sell it.
This a bike with the same fairing. It doesn't look that bad (or is your comment a back-door way of saying you want it?)

Not sure yet what color "HE" will be. Maybe the black with the red and silver accent stripes like I had on Junior for a while. I have black cowling, belly pan and front fender. Paint a tank the correct Pearl Novelty Black.
Or for fun it, put  on this tank with the matching tail pieces and call him "Pinky"

I've got silver wheels with new tires that were going to be put on Suzi. I think I'll put them on "HIM". Right now he has really huge tires. They barely fit in the front fender and are close to the rear swing arm. Anyone want these tires? I have extra white rims so the rims can go with the tires.

I don't think a Suzuki should stay Ducati Yellow.

When I'm done with "HIM", time for a garage sale of all the extra parts.

Is the tank dent-free? I have a few dings that drive me crazy!

Since he is number three call him "Trey", you know old school 3 in card games?

BTW I like the colour and wouldn't change it.

Is that a little bit of road rash on the engine?

Little bit of rash. I have replacement covers to clean that up.
TREY is pretty good!
If I don't change the color, what will I do with all my extra parts? Buy a 4th bike?
No dents in the tank. Plus Juniors original tank is perfect as well as the new red/pink one. What to do with 2 extra tanks?
I did get an extra instrument holder. What's the deal with the blue high light indicator? It is missing that! Looking on ebay, if anything is missing it is the blue one. Why? Also got extra mirrors, rear shock, turn signals & some other stuff in a box.

BTW, sick=awesome

You young whippersnappers and your new fangled slang. Am I showing my age or my Iowa upbringing?
Mothers of River City heed that warning before its too late. Are your young ones starting to buckle their nickerbockers below the knees? Are they starting to memorize jokes from Capin' Billy's Whiz bang? Are they using words like "swell" and "so's your 'ol man"? Well if so, my friend, you got trouble! Right here in River City. That's trouble with a capital T and that rhymes with P and that stands for pool!

Congrats on the 3rd GS. :)
Wonder if we can claim these additional family members come tax time. 6 "dependents" should get me a pretty big refund.  :icon_mrgreen:

That's a pretty serious fairing! I bet that does make for some nice commuting. I'm gonna be looking for something about half that size.

Ha, I told my friend to buy that bike. Looks like you got to it first. It seemed like a nice bike at a great price.

Wow! Another Seattle person.
We need a get-together for all us Seattle people. Let's get together - rain or really raining.

Overall bike is good. Tires are way to big. Misses rear brake arm by 1/8" and barely fits in the front fender. I have new tires on silver rims that will go on him (stock size). I haven't been able to ride yet but those that did ride him say steering is odd - probably due to the huge tires. Euro Clip-ons going on, stainless chain guard going on. Smoke turn signals and brake light on order. Key sticky - not sure whether to try to clean it out or replace the locks. The key is not the original, so that could be the problem. I think I have a spare set in my box-o-parts. Could use a valve adjustment. But overall, a great deal. Runs good.

scottychop

Congrats!  I almost bought this one.  Welcome!

You good a great GS! With your new (human) baby, you have a free pass to my parts garage to see what is there that you can use on your new bike. The Sito muffler might solve your muffler/brake problem. A carrier for the baby bag would be nice.

We can lock Suzi and your GS500 in the garage. Turn the mood music, sexy lights and see if they can breed a pocket bike for your new baby!
