GS500 and Katana 750 wheels and brakes...

Just confirming a few things.

Right now I'm running an FZR600 front end.  I'm about to slap on a 1993 Katana 750 front end.  This bike is running 290mm rotors.  I want to run the 310mm rotors on the GS500.

Bolt patterns should be the same between the GS500 and this Katana wheel, right?  Are there any 320mm rotors that will fit this wheel?  If I'm going to have to build new caliper hangers I want to go as big as possible.

I am near about sure the 89-95 GSXR - both 750 and 1100 should be swappable. I can check tonight is you need. The thing though is the GSXR rotor especially the early ones were slotted, not drilled. It may be good, but I think drilled works better albeit @ the cost of pad life. BTW you do know you're going to have to make an adapter plate for the brakes right.
Cool.

I'm no noob to building caliper hangers.  My current FZR setup and my TL1000S are the only bikes I've owned that didn't have adapters.

I hate the slotted rotors but I may look at them.  I'll probably just live with GS500 rotors.

Mak,

You got pics of the FZR FE? Is it a dual disk or single? Are you planning on selling it when you are done with the Katana swap? I'm looking for a FE that's ready to bolt on.

I'm updating my site at the moment...I can post a pic in about an hour or so.  Yeah it's a dual disc front end...298mm EBC discs and blue dot 4-pot calipers.  As far as braking it would be a huge upgrade.  As far as performance you would have to pick up some new guts....the stock FZR forks work a lot better than the GS but they're still about as simple a setup as it gets.

I don't know if I want to sell them yet, though...I probably will. I would like to build another bike with them but I need to narrow down my bikes.  I'll post them up here and I'll know soon.

You clown ... I am selling just the stem, I dont have fork legs (unless I pull the ones off my bike) and wheel and brakes are well ... again have to be pulled off mine. I dont need to be shipping 300 lb of metal, find it local. The tricky part is the stem. BTW you wanna got even further overboard ... K how about a bolt on ear set to mount GS guages with the grommets that bolts under your clip on carrier. Yup, nearly invisible and fits like it came from the factory that way. Of course I made 3 pairs and sold none ... so I used 2 ... and lost the third somewhere into the black hole of my garage. I can make more ... if some demented GS owners want em ...
Cool.

So tempting...when I finish my extended SA project I will get back to you...I don't want to have projects all spring and summer.
