one of my magnets is broken in half and to other was unglued and stuck to the stator when I removed it >:( can I just jb weld them back on?

Magnets on the flywheel or on the stator? Either way, that's no bueno. The stator is easy, I just got a used one off ebay for around $50. Flywheel... not as easy.

I wonder if that was your problem initially, and not the top end?

If you have a shredded magnet+stator you have magnetic iron based material everywhere - oil and every where in the motor. Goat had to rebuild his bike. I got away with doing several oil changes in a 3-400 mile interval. I also pulled the pan and oil pickup and cleaned it.
You are going to have to do at a minimum what I did.
Cool.

Magnets on the stator. Yeah, I'm thinking that might have been my problem

The stator looks fine, but one magnet was cracked in half but still in place. The other magnet was on the stator when I removed the cover so it was completely loose. I think I lost that clip that holds the piston pin in place and it might have fallen inside so I removed the engine, tried to split it in half and gave up . . leverage part on the engine even broke off from trying to pry it open  when I dropped the oil pan and removed the pick up and cleaned that up, found some of that orange stuff that holds the magnets in my oil and inside the oil pan :icon_eek:

I'm almost ready to fire it up anyway, if it starts knocking. I'm getting a new engine. Either way I'm all ready searching
