I would say YES if they are going on the tube. If they are like the 89 clipons the I guess it's clamp dependent.

I got a pair of 37mm vortex clipons.

SlanginFromaGS

found 83-86 clip ons from a gs 550 will they work how much for ur vortexs dont got alot o money srry

They are 37mm. I have a pair of woodcraft clipons on sale for $100, if you're interested.

2ND QUESTION WHAT HARDWARE NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED TO USE OUT OF BOX
3RD QUESTION WHERE THE HECK R THEY GONNA GO I HAVE STOCK CRUISER STYLE BARS, IT DOESNT LOOK LIKE IT WILL FIT BUT GUESSING THERES PROBABLY A TRICK TO IT. ALSO CAN U ELABORATE WITH A QUICK RUNDOWN HOW TO INSTALL SO I KNOW WHAT IM GETTIN MYSELF INTO(LIKE A SUMMARY)

Hey, answering your question takes time and research - no one here knows the off the top of our heads. You're asking for a lot of help... If you can't do the research yourself, the least you could do is take the time to use proper capitalization.

To answer your question, in long:

The GS550 is a completely different motorcycle than the suzuki GS500. Despite the similar names, they don't share a lot of parts in common, the way the GS450 and GS500 do. Few people here would be able to answer your question off the top of their heads.

I did however do a little research. The 86 GS-550 uses 37mm forks like our GS500, but it does not use traditional clamp style mounts - the GS-550 clip-ons seem to bolt to the upper triple, using a system that's different than the 89 GS500s. Also, the bars seem to mount fairly high - I doubt installing them above the upper triple clamp would lower your handlebars significantly. If you want a racy look or posture for your GS, clubman bars would be about the same cost, and would probably work better.

There's a slim chance the GS550 clip ons will fit the GS500, but it's highly unlikely.

TL;DR:

It won't work. Buy clubmans, buy 89 GS500 clipons, buy my woodcrafts, buy some vortex, or buy CBR F1 clip-ons.

Assuming you have a GS500E (naked bike) and not a GS500F (fairing bike.)

To answer your other question, you have a few options for installing clip-ons on the GS500... The best method, is to buy some European clip-ons, or get the 89GS500 clip-ons. Both approaches are really expensive (more than $100.)

The second approach is to buy a set of after-market headlight mounts, and remove the stock bracket. The stock headlight mounts work very well, but leave you no place to install the clip-ons.

The third approach is to un-bolt the upper tripple clamp top-plate, that mounts your instrument cluster, fabricate a new mounting system for the cluster, and raise the fork tubes slightly in the tripple. That should give you enough space to bolt the clip-ons above the triple.

The fourth, cheezy and potentially unsafe approach is to just raise the fork tubes in the triple enough to bolt on the clip-ons. This will point the nose of your bike way down, and can make the bike more nimble, but a lot less stable.
