I finally tackled my first job on the GS. Started easy by doing the DIY Timing Advance. Went great...took about 20 min. I have now busted my "Work on it yourself" cherry.  :woohoo: Next project is a good carb clean and new jets from Buddah. Look at me go lol

How old are you? Most boys pass that stage well before they're old enough to own a motorcycle.   :flipoff:

Hahaha I have always been a "just pay someone to do it cause it's easier" kind of guy. And 33 to answer your question

Tip,when you remove the Carb tops don`t lose the tiny O rings underneath,do one carb at a time, don`t forget to switch fuel tap on the underside of the tank back on before fitting tank.Well done for giving it a go yourself, how do you find the timing advance in performance?

As far as performance...It was noticeable but nothing to brag about. After a short ride I had to adjust idle back down but all in all I am happy!
As for the carbs... I am actually excited to get into it. I was really dreading it until I read up on them a lot. I have pretty much memorized every how to for these carbs  :thumb:

I was the same way, as far as i knew carbs worked on magic  :D

Picked up the manual and dove in, now I think Ive head every part of this bike apart and could put the carbs together blindfolded
