Gotta get gloves man, if you come off (again) or hit something statistically there is an 85/90% chance the first point of contact will be your hand, it's what you do if you trip, stick out your hand.

If you don't get some decent gloves you will get a lot of tetanus shots!

Glad the plastic head did it's job! hope you (and the bike!) are OK and you get sorted ASAP>

Sorry to hear about your injuries. Man, is that ever frustrating!  :x

Sometimes it's not the bodily pain that aggravates so much as the mental agonizing:  "Why ME?" or "What did I do wrong?" or "If only ...."

Heal quickly and completely, bud.  Wouldn't want to ruin that upcoming trip abroad!

I just wish i knew what to do with the bike....I want to sell it, and just take my losses...When i get another bike i'll get one that's new...or atleast one that doesn't have so many problems..

Don't sell the bike - at least not right away. When you're still upset and frustrated it's easy to make a rash decision that you'll regret later. Relax and heal up for a few weeks and then think about it. If you decide to sell it then, at least you put some thought into the decision and won't kick yourself later.

Riding with or without gear, no matter for how long/ short your ride is, it's your own choice so I won't start about that

How's your head? Do you feel like you took a concussion? If so, stay awake, we don't want anything bad happening to you. If you begin to feel dizzy, call somebody. Is there somebody who can get you some gauze to wrap your hands at least? I hope you feel better. Concentrate on healing first.

Lesson learned-wear all the gear you can (and the best you can afford).

heal quickly, physically and mentally. Get checked out by a doc just in case-head injuries are tricky.

Well, let's see... you couldn't get insurance, so you went out riding... in a pissed off frame of mind... without insurance... without proper gear... limited experience (?)... and a poor running bike... And then crashed.   Wait, why couldn't you get insurance?

Sorry to be an ass at your expense - just trying to make a point. You can poke an eye out w/ that thing! Glad you're okay.  There has to be a solution to your bike problems and  I'm sure the good folks here can eventyually help you figure it out.  Good luck and be careful.

Around here, if you get stopped and don't have any insurance (and I mean don't have it... not simply don't have proof on you), they will pull your driver's license for a year. That's plenty of reason for me not to take any chances.

Murphy's Law... I've heard too many stories that started out with, "I always wear all my gear... except for this one time I was just going a short distance..", and they end up with, "scraped all my skin off". I'm not trying to be preachy, and no, I'm not a veteran rider with hundreds of thousands of miles under my belt, but my advice is, if you can't afford some additional gear (good jacket, boots, and gloves) to go with your helmet then don't ride until you get them. Search the 'net for pics of people who've slid down the road without gear and you'll see what I mean. It ain't worth having to get skin grafts.

Why are you having so much trouble getting insurance? How old are you?
When I got my bike I rode to the title place w/ previous owner and set up my policy over the phone. My policy is bare bones and came in at 115 a year. Insurance company's normally dont let you buy policy's by the month. They'll do 6 months for cars but since it was so cheap for my bike they would only do a 12 month policy, I'm 21 btw. If your atleast 18 you should just call a company and set it up lickity split. I use Progressive fyi. Hope this helps and pour a lil proxide on those cuts get that bike running and put it behind you.

My agent also wanted a full year.  I asked whether I could cancel it for the winter, and he said the reason it's so cheap is that they assume you won't be riding when the snow flies, so that's already factored-in (but he didn't really say I couldn't ).  He also claimed that if I backed a car into it after cancelling for the winter, the house insurance and car insurance through him wouldn't cover it, because it's a motor vehicle.  I pointed out that if I rode it on dirt, then it's recreational equipment, and he'd cover it if I backed into it.  He got a little impatient, and complained that I was almost as tight as my dad , who also uses him as an agent .
