Jetting matrix.. of sorts

I assume this is what it is.

Stock Jets and stock exhaust and stock paper filter

17.5 pilots, 60 for mid-main and 127.5 for main.

Now I was told for K&N Clamp on (RU 2970) (drop in works too), with stock (drilled or not) or slip on exhaust we got to put in.

Mikuni #20 Bleed pilots, 62.5 mid-main and 137.5 mains (132.5 some say but it runs better on 137.5 main)

According to a previous thread these jets are : The pilot is a N224.103 type . The mains (both) are N102.221

#20 pilot (part # 004.564 from Sudco), #62.5 mid-main (004-270), and 132.5 main (004.298) and 137.5 main (004.300).

Also from another thread: PART NO. : 09491-62006 -> midmain 62.5 ; 09491-27007 -> mainjet 137.5 (someone says pilot jet part # n151.067 )

Also need a #4 nylon washer for shimming and 3 - 3.5 turns on air screw.
We know we need a crankcase breather or a Pressure relief valve to connect to the pipe that goes from the top of the valve cover to the airbox (what is that damn connector called - PCV valve?)

Now what format are these jets? Small , round slotted, hex??? and which part numbers are the right numbers

Problem is piper5177 is running Stage 3 @ 147.5 main and 67.5 mid-main and 17.5 pilots with 3 turns on airmix and needles one clip from top + a v&H exhaust and ign.advancer.

Okay in another thread piper (more recent) has better info in there.

quote from MJM: On my US 2001 the stock set up was pilots 17.5 bleed type, main 127.5. There is a 60 jet in there but it is NOT a pilot jet. I rejeted in stages. Two washers under the clip and 3 turns out on the pilot screw fixed most of the cold blooded nature of the bike. Added K&N pods and 132.5 and 135 mains felt about equal - plugs read better at 132.5 so thats what I used. Added Cobra "R" slip-on and moved up to 152.5 for a starting point. I always start a bit rich - easier to fix than a hole in the piston. Added # 20 pilots that my dealer ran down for me - they seem to be a bit different from the standard Mikuni bleed pilot - bigger hole in the bleed part - but that is just eyeballing it. Bike ran good when cold (below 40 F) but would start without the choke in hot weather and idled rich until I turned in the pilot srews a bit. Went to a 150 main and went to 3 and 1/2 turns out on the mixture screws works well and seems to have a bit more power than the 152.5's except in cold weather. Plugs looked good with the 152.5's and look about the same with the 150's. Still get about 45-50 mpg even with givi bags sticking out in the wind.

Never touched that # 60 jet.

This is a picture of my Jets from my 2001 taken by pkasso (paul) when we took my carbs apart.

The 2001 main and mid-main jets are small, round, slotted.

The 2001 pilot is (as you have above) a N224.103, also called a TMX36. I think they are completely different beasts from the 2000 and previous pilot jets (non-interchangeable), but I don't know for sure. I think they are bleed type (referring to the small bleed holes drilled through the shaft?)

Here are some pics of what came out of mine (2001) if that helps:

http://rx7.voodoobox.net/images/jets/

I am running:

Pilot = 20
Mid-Main = 62.5
Main = 132.5

and have raised the needles 1 mm. Runs great! I haven't had a chance to try the 137.5 main, but I think it would be fine. I currently have stock paper filter, no timing advancer, and a V&H SS pipe.

This is just a guess, but with your mods I would try:

Pilot = 20
Mid-Main = 67.5
Main = 142.5 or 147
Raise the needles 1 mm.

About the washers... seems like there are a bunch of different washers out there (thicknesses) and sizes don't seem to match up well. I found that #3 steel washers worked well. I would recommend just taking the needle out and going to the hardware store and finding a 1mm thick washer (or 2 0.5 mm washers) that fits the needle. The washer's outer diameter can't be larger than the stock spacer, or the needle assy. won't fit back down into the slide.

Here's what my needle looked like stock:

http://rx7.voodoobox.net/images/needle.jpg

I had to order a replacement needle spring (somehow, mine was missing!) so I just got several extra thin washers (stock part, as seen on the far right of the pic) and used them to raise the needle (they're 0.5mm).

As far as part numbers... I can't help you other than the Sudco numbers found in my previous posts. I tried my local Suzuki dealer and their parts diagrams only show stock jet sizes... so there would be no Suzuki part number for an oversized jet. You may just have to root around in their jet bins and hope you find what you want (take the bike apart first and take your stock jets to compare).

I've got the parts diagram for 2001, so let me know if you need any Suzuki part numbers for stock parts.... I can confirm it doesn't list any part numbers for oversized jets.

Hope that helps!

I think i will go with what piper had put on his thread.

#20 pilots,
#62.5 mid
#137.5 main
with a 1/16 shimming (not sure how many mm that is)
