Out of pure curiosity and hesitation for trying myself, does anyone use earbuds while riding (If so, what kind) and is it really unsafe to do so? Pros & Cons anyone?

I have been thinking of mouting ear buds in my helmet so I don't have to actually wear them. I've never listened to music on the mc but have on my road bike. You just don't want it so loud that you can't hear anything else, especially at low speeds around town.

Some places it's illegal to wear them- but I've done it. Not so much on my short ride to work but for longer trips it is nice.

I try not to "depend" on my ability to hear a problem on the bike. If a car is honking it's horn and I don't see them, it's probably too late.

I listened.  I always felt more in control and I could get into a rhythm when I listened to music.  The trick is to not set the volume too loud.  I have some cheap ones....don't know the name.
