Jetting for K&N lunchbox

okay so i have been speaking to budda about jetting for a 2004 gs500 with stok exhaust but a K&N lunchbox filter, he believes that "alot of people have tried and failed" at jettimg this set-up. I was just wondering whether anyone has successfully jetted this set-up or think they have it close to perfect. Any help is much appreciated.

It's difficult to jet for a lunch box and stock exhaust.The engine takes in more air than it can pass through the exhaust.This is why everyone upgrades the exhaust and air filter at the same time.Here is a site they tells exactly how to tune our type carbs.

Yeah that makes sense, so do you think i would get better performance rejetting with the stock exhaust and air box, than trying to fiddle around jetting just the K&N lunchbox with no exhaust?

I will definitely say yes.  I just rejetted my bike, stock airbox and stock exhaust and it pulls so much better now.

I think it is best to wait to rejet for the air filter and exhaust upgrade.Since parts aren't that much,I do a stock rejet.
