Not really all that interesting, but when i filled up this morning, i put in 11 litres of gas. The trip meter said 240 km. Did the math, and that's 4.6L/100km or 51 MPG!!!

On our trip from the Crossing to Canmore, my bike averaged 4.9L/100kms...not bad for 1670cc V twin...that whole trip, I averaged 5.3L/100kms...I'm so glad I removed that PCIII tuner...my first thank through the bike was 7.0L/100kms...and I didn't notice any power difference either...

:flipoff:

It was horrid for a bike, but remember 7L/100kms converts to 34mpg which is decent for a car...but now at (what does it say my average is below...5.9L/100kms??) 5.9L/100kms that converts to 40mpg, which is about average for a larger bike...but it is dropping, I seem to be coming in around 5.5L/100kms (43mpg) on most tanks lately...or better... :thumb:

Ride this bike nice and you'll see 55-60mpg.  Check the fuelly.

I've got a 70km round-trip commute daily on the highway at about 120kph (~6000 cruise - 7500 rpm when passing)... I usually up-shift around 5-6k unless I'm merging, then around 6700. I'd say it's not too bad, although the air filter may need a change in the next little bit here. Almost 3900km put on since April 01, 2011!

If your experience is like mine you'll see low-50's mpg that way.  If I really try to squeeze mileage out of this thing on trips I've seen 67mpg, but that's the max, limiting my speed to under 60, which gets boring.  On trips I usually see around 60 mpg, riding at 5 or 6 grand as you describe.  My fuelly describes suburban commuting.  That is one of the big reasons I love this bike.  In the 55mpg+ club, this bike performs better than anything I've ever ridden, and with gas at $4/gallon that matters a lot to me.

See, Flick is still not doing well he has always been a little bit of a hog. I usually get 150 before I have to go reserve. But, last tank I had to switch at 139. I got 158 total and had to put 4.1 gals in . Oh I want my old Flick back.
