original headlight cowl

I was thinking about getting the original headlight cowl, or one like a targa like this one...

I was wondering if any of you have experienced wind buffeting or if they are comfortable to ride with.

Depending on how tall you are I am pretty sure wind noise will increase as the screen pushes air into your helmet. Does on my Monster that has a bikini fairing. I don't notice any buffeting though simply cause it is a naked bikes and well naked bikes always get buffeted to a degree.

Wonder why this model says it only fits up to 2002? I can't see why it wouldn't fit other naked bikes past that year

Also this thing looks far better in pictures than it does on a bike. I like the buell blast one but that's just me.

I have one of the originals.I didn't know Targa started making them again.They are GS specific fit.I have none of those issues.The fairing is adjustable by loosing and moving it around.It will require the headlight to be realigned a little when is on.I also have the matching lower faring.

I think that may just be a replacement windscreen.

You are correct.It is just a replacement windscreen for the fairing.

Junior has an OEM. It helps - not as much as a full fairing but it is nice. Gimbel makes a cowling. Sometimes they show up on ebay. There are 2 OEM's. 1989 had one then they made a slight change in 1990. Mainly the mounting changed. I've got some of each so I notice the difference and the instructions/parts lists for Suzuki do show the difference. If you look around you can still find some from other companies in the UK and Germany. there are generic ones, too. M and P in the UK sells a lot of them.
