AC generator - Random Questions

So I just tested my AC generator in continuity and it failed. (there is continuity across the wires)... this mean i have to replace the entire generator?
Also my regulator gave me strange numbers but not sure if that is because i am using a multimeter.
Nevermind.. I am a huge failure... There SHOULD be continuity across the AC Generator.. There shouldn't be any to ground.. misread that

How long does it take a battery to fully charge? Wondering if a bunch of 10-15 minutes rides is enough to charge it or if it has been weak ever since i got the new battery and road it for an hour or so to attempt to charge it...

Have it on an external charger i bought at harbor freight now.

Edit: Looks like it may be the battery i just bought in May of this year... Charged it up last night and was at 12.63 volts when i pulled it off the charger.. Left it in the kitchen and this morning it was at 12.30 volts.
