I have been lurking around the site reading, drooling and learning for the past month. Well I finally pulled the trigger and became a member yesterday and I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Casey, and I bought my 2007 GS500F early June of this year. This is my first bike and I'm very pleased how easy it was to learn on. Since I bought it, I have put on over 1500 miles and have been loving every minute of it. The sad part is that I am having knee surgery on Wednesday and will be riding nothing but the couch for the next few weeks. But anyway below is a list of mods I have done, and mods I plan to do. Thanks and I look forward to picking everybodies brains as I learn more about this bike.

Mods Done:
Reflectors removed (I do not ride at night)
Grab bar removed (Wife is deathly scared of motorcycles. She is a Trauma Nurse)
Flush Mount turn signals on the front
Rear fender trimmed

Future Mods:
Vortex Clip On Handlebars ( Purchasing tomorrow)
Flush Mount Rear Turn Signals or tail light with integrated turn signals
Katana Wheel Swap with larger tires. Max on Rear will be 140/70/17
Puig Dark wind screen
Lunchbox K&N and New exhaust with Rejet
New paint. Toying with Flat OD Green and Black or All Flat Black

Well, my two cents. Flush mounted signals are just that...flush and you usually can't see them from the front too well. Why not get some small ones that are stubbies?  And the stock rim will fit a 140/70/17 tire. Have a Michelin Pilot Active that I put on in May before I rode to The Dragon from Nashville and have put 3,000 miles on since. Would love to do the Katana for a wider tire, just wanting to wait and take care of a few other things first. I have a K&N drop in that needs ordering, a rejet, and painting the headers black again...

so the 140/70/17 will fit on our stock wheels?
cuz my Exodia is due on Tire Change out and wanted to get something looking for aggresive,
kinda like this:

cuz the one that's in it right now is the square flat one, not the round one, kinda like this:

do you think it will work?

do you have any pics of a GS500 with that round tires instead of the square falt one?

No.140's are rated for 4.0 to 4.5 inch wheels. That is why the OP is going with a Katana 600 rear wheel.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

The 140/70 rear Demons, Activs, and Roadriders are sized for a 3.75" preferred rim width now for an equally good fitment on either 3.5 or 4.0" rear rims.

I've run 130/70, 130/80, 130/90, 140/70, 140/80, and 150/70 rear tires on my 3.5" stock GS500/E rear rims and all the tires I've run have been fitments approved by the tires maker.

After 12 years and 160k+ miles of GS500 riding on all these tire sizes I think I like the 110/70 front and 140/70 rear sizes best.
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

I've got a 140 Pirelli Sport Demon on my rear and it's fine.

Best of luck on the knee surgery!  I'm 3 weeks into my ACL reconstruction with a Hamstring Allograft and am starting to think of things to mod on my GS.

Thank you very for all the feedbacks and help, at least I could reference back to this thread once I get my new replacement tires, I'll be going with the 140/70 on rear and 110/70 on the front. Kudos to all  :woohoo:
