Hi!

I have a question about front springs and oil.

So far! K&N, Slip on, Rejet, HID Headlamp, 15-Tooth front sprocket.  :D

I have ordered a 01 Katana 600 rear shock, Stainless steel brake lines and new grips (thinking about suburban machinery type 2 bars) on my 07 GS500F. All to go on once it arrives and I get some new springs. (I like to do it all at once).

I am looking at Progressive Springs and some fork oil, I weigh 110Kg and would like a stiffer front end. I live in Australia and was wondering what are my options in regards to what springs I should be looking at to suit my weight.

Kind Regards,

Gibo.

Progressive fork springs only come in one size.  The part number is 11-1128 for the ones I just put in.

I weigh 180 pounds (about 82 kilos for the rest of the planet,) and I used 15w fork oil, and set the oil height to 5.5 inches (140mm.). The ride is definitely stiffer, there is significantly less front end drop while braking, and I don't bottom out on bumps and stuff I did with the stock suspension.  They really compliment my yellow SV650 shock well.  I have only ridden once since I put them in (f%$king raining for a week straight,) but I am definitely happy so far.

I'm a good bit heavier and I ran Progressive springs(same part number) and 20W fork oil.I also ran a Katana 750 rear shock.I have since up grade my front end to a Katana 750 front end.

I'd strongly advise sonic or racetech springs over progressives. At your weight... I'm not sure what spring to recommend, but I would suggest 20 weight oil, and a starting oil level of 120mm or so.

0.95s would probably be right, maybe 0.90s if you're riding is just moderate touring/commuting. But given the mod list I'm thinking there's at least a little bit of corner strafing planned. :)
