OK guys I am @ my wits end.
I have literally been in excruciating pain from maybe 92-93. A foot with very little arch runs in my family, my grampa literally had a foot flat as a board. Of course he made it to 96 by being 5ft 2 and 100 lb if that. I was a 100 lb when I turned 9 so there goes that.

Anyway in 99 I started wearing orthotics. Got what I now believe to be a pretty hard good feet second hardest one and wore it several years. In 2005 being unemployed and a shop @ my disposal, I ground myself a pair of orthotics out of aluminum. Some GStwin people (se7enty7 in particular, average, werase643, dgyver, starwalt, lopee - the guys in 100 mile radius etc likely) have seen it.
Then in 08 I decided metal - it was anyway killing boots in short order and leaving me with an inflexible foot and a different kind of pain - was not the way to go and went back to a good feet max 462. With that thing not being tall enough I decided to grind its heel and outstep. That seemed to work a few months.
Anyway I am looking for a taller and harder one. Good feet max is supposedly the hardest one ever made, and a 462 is your foot size counting in the various shapes etc. Now a 463 makes the thing longer and puts the arch under the balls of my feet, and any smaller number leave it too short.
Anyone has any similar problem and hence a solution ?

well dealing wiht my own version of this shiite, diabetic neuropathy etc leg muscles on back side been locked almsot rigid for almost 2 years. i can fell your pain lol. but as far as foot stuff goes, have you tried. modding some of the insoles, akafind the most you can use, ( stepping on it) i made do my making insoles out of OLD wetsuits. a neoprene rubber. wiht a slightly stuffed arch. it worked well. my feet would stink later on because of a few thigns, one of which is hte neoprene doesnt absob moisture. but 1 it was free, and 2, i was broke, so 3 why not try lol. and the suit wasnt usable any more for diving.

It cant be neoprene nothing ... I liked that aluminum, I may grind myself another set, I just need a right ... the left was still useable.
I like setting my feet on golf balls, literally it has to be hard as a rock.

Have you checked out the Dr. Scholls orthotics? They are a bit cheaper. I'm very lucky I have perfect feet. No weird stepping, insole is great, I wear my shoes like they are supposed to wear so mine last forever. I'll ask my PT they also make orthotics maybe she will have some tips. I don't know how you can stand on golf balls even those nubbs in sandles and flip flops hurt my feet EEK!

Not stand on a golf ball, just sitting with them under my foot bearing on em ... not 100% body weight, like 50%, I actually can stand on 1/2 a golf ball though. Strangely, any other spot other than my arch is pain, a pebble in my shoe = torture. Just the arch needs it.
With orthotics my shoes wear quite fine, but I am running out of the useability of this one though.

go to a doctor man, they might be able to make you custom insoles or something that forms perfectly to your foot...

I've got to ask what has flat feet got to do with your foot issue? I've got flat feet, as did my father as does my son. Never had any issues and I'm around the 203lb region. They only issue I have is modern shoes make my feet ache with their inbuilt arch supports. Take them out and they feel great except for running. I much prefer to run barefoot or with those parkour shoes that are shaped like a foot. Those things rock.

Shaddow: My feet are killing me, I think I have a very very low arch, not 100 flat, need it pushed higher or I will not even be able to walk.

Done already and those things last exactly about 1 year. The thing costs 500 bucks, and it is made from what can best be described as hard styrofoam. I prefer the good feet type ones that are just plastic, they cannot break down, however I have an arch that can move taller and I need the insert to keep with it, heck if that were to be possibly I may just end up without any pain.

Buddha my partner has low arch problems. He went to a doctor and they gave him hard plastic orthotics, he swears by them. In the 5 years that he's been wearing them, he hasn't had a problem with his back aching and they haven't worn down much. Plus he can fit them in his motorbike boots  :thumb: I'm not sure what type of plastic they are but they don't budge an inch and they're harder than any other orthotics I've seen before.

The ones I have are the styrofoam ones you've talked about. Honestly they're crap.

Crzydood17: They do something surgical called a cadaver insert. Not sure if I want that just yet, in any case I will look into it. That also aint no plastic surgery though, its structural. I may make a trip to India and get it done if I find out it wil lhelp.

Missk8t: The insert he has is Black plastic with a waffle pattern on the bottom ? that is what I got. They have em in different colors, but the lighter ones are softer, clear, white, tan, grey and black - atleast that is the good feet color scheme. BTW good feet in the US charges 300 bucks per pair. If that aint highway robbery I dunno what is ... hunk of plastic, not even hand ground, nothing. I am thinking of freaking going to India and cranking out a few 10000 sadly I only got a 462.

The styrofoam ones look like black hard styrofoam that has some gel type inserts and a leather top cover ? if so yea total crap. They feel good the first month, 3 months in you will be thinking what are these doing ... and 6 months later you'd know they doing very little and their own admittance is that they only work ~ year. So yea DOA in 6 months ... like the 60,000 mile tires wink wink.

Nah the ones he has are a yellow/white colour and there is no waffle patter on the bottom. It's smooth from what I could tell. They ended up costing $600 bucks, the doctor got a mould of his foot and got them made especially to suit him. I haven't heard of good feet.

The ones I got were made by othoheel. They're ok for the first 3 months like you said, after that sh!thouse. So I'm just wearing supportive joggers/trainers most of the time, or some normal shoes and suffering the aches and pains later on. :cookoo: I know...
