Couple of pictures; here are my front forks. The dust seal seems to be very damaged by the look of it? (but i have no idea what im looking at) and the forks have lots of little snags and jagged bits on them.. why would this be? I only bought the bike  3 weeks ago and got fed up of having oil sputter on my boots and caliper. (fork seals are gone)

WIll i HAVE to replace these forks or can i smooth them out somehow? So that they dont break the new fork seals??

If your fingernail hangs up on any of those snags, then yes you will need to replace the fork legs (not the sliders).  You will need to replace the seals anyway.

Your bike is a '93, and the previous owner may not have taken care of it.

Those dings on your forks look like they could have come from gravel picked up by a truck, or just rust.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?
