I don't know if any of you have had this problem, I can't afford to go to the doc till after Friday, but after riding for about an hour plus. When it comes night time, When I've gotta rest. I get very light headed, kinda like when I sway to the right It feels like im going to the left. when I go to sleep and wake up. It normally goes away. and I'm not seeing stars. the only problem I'm having is, when I was growing up from 3 years old to around 13 years old. I had epilepsy, Well the docs finally said I'd grew out of it. But the feeling is kinda like the feeling I got before a seizure. So it's not a good feeling. but I've only experienced this feeling Since I've started riding my bike, Could it be caused by my butt hurt problem? Not enough blood flow? Or possibly the vibration problem?

I'm a small guy[5'8" 125lbs], Always have been. I also have thalassemia. My father was small till around his early mid 20's he also has thalassemia. I'm only 17 years old. so I got some growing still in me, HOPEFULLY!  I also have IBS. I know you all arn't doctors. Just a little in site into my medical life. To rule out some possible problems.

It's weird. I will seek professional help, but wanted to know if anyone on here experienced this problem..

i havnt experienced it before, however i would go to a doctor before riding more as if it could be leading to a seizure then you definatly do not want to risk having a seizure while riding as if it happens it could very well be the end of you

IBS has a cause. Identify the cause, stop consuming it, your IBS will go away.  :thumb:

If you take drugs for IBS - and being American I assume you are cause that's what Americans do (take drugs for everything) then you need to read up on the MSDS of the drugs you are taking.

Actually. IBS is Irritable Bowel Syndrome. And there is no medication for it. Doctors Don't even know what exactly causes it. So How can their be medical cause, and my IBS is triggered by many foods. Even healthy foods like apples. I can't afford to skip on some foods because I need to eat!  :icon_mrgreen: And actually I take more herbal substances than normal drugs, None has yet to help but they arn't gonna cause long term addiction or anything like that.

For the other thing. Yeah I might hold off on riding. just bothers me cause this hasn't happened before.

Dizziness can also be caused by low iron.  I used to be 5'10" 125lbs and got bloody noses just from waking up.

IBS can be caused by food allergies; have yourself tested for allergies.  My late wife had IBS and it was cured with a complete hysterectomy (removal of oviaries; not suggested if you're a guy).

I would also suggest drinking Kombucha (found at Whole Foods; Kombucha's website has a list of distributers) to replenish digestive bacteria.  It has helped me with dairy products.

The problem is, With low iron I can't really do much about it. because of the thalassemia. Glad to see some other smaller folks on here tho. I thought i'd be alone like most of the time.  ;)

yeah I do have a dairy problem too, Might give it a try. Thanks on the advice. I might also consider getting a hysterectomy, But the problem is I hate needles... But im just being a chicken. :D

Yes, you can do stuff about low iron I have it all the time. Eat some liver here in there it is naturally high in digestable iron. They also have iron tablets but I would have the doc ensure that is the problem.

Have you been drinking enough. If you get thirsty through out the day too late your already dehydrated. Low blood pressure can also cause your issues.

I too have IBS/Crohn's and with medication it is well controlled. I have an odd diet but it works for me. Eating foods I don't care how "good" it is for you if you eat it and it makes you sick don't eat it there are plenty substitutes out there. I can't have beef, tomatoes, or high fat food. I've almost eliminated that but once in a while a slice of pizza without sauce or an alfredo pizza. For me fat is the hardest because I'm poor tough to get low fat cheap food. It is a life style change that you've got to do otherwise you will be miserable.

The only answer to any of this is GO TO A DOCTOR. If you even suspect you have the potential to have a seizure while riding your motorcycle you need to GO TO A DOCTOR even if it turns out to be nothing. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

You're dealing with potentially fatal consequences when it comes to your health, don't leave it to chance.

dude sorry to say this but this is a motorcycle forum lol... you should def go to a doc that has a history with you!
there is nothing anyone can say or recommend to you here that would help you in anyway, in fact taking advice from anyone on here can be lethal! I would strongly suggest NOT to comment on this thread with actual medical advice!

Even if you are a doctor!!! Sorry again mate and hope this blows over soon so you can get back to riding again!

Well I haven't had a seizure in the past 10 or so years.. I was passed off by a specialist years ago.

Well seeming it vibrates way to much for me.. I think I might swap it. cause I spent a whole day from 8:30 AM till 6:00 PM on the MSF course and never came back with these problems... Never even felt these problems. so I think it has something to do with the bike, and my body not liking it.

MSF Course: you ride a 250, ride slow, rarely get out of first gear, ride in a smooth parking lot.

Not at all the same riding you do out on the street.

The internet pretends it's House MD.

My two cents - see a doctor. You've got enough health problems you should be seeing a doctor regularly anyway. Let them clear you. As a side note: my gs500 doesn't vibrate more than any other bike I've rode. While you're getting the doctor to look at you, have a mechanic look at your bike, lol.

The bike even in low gear vibrates more. Don't worry. I'm in the process of taking the whole god damn thing apart, Can't stand it.. Plus, Any of you know how a gas tank gets dented from the time you walk into the store, by the time you come out? Cause mine did.. Still confused, Store refuses to give me any video footage, and its a small like fist sized dent. so not really all that important, but I'd like to take it out. I'll try a few methods. Picked up a trick a while ago from a friend about sheet metal dents, but I don't think I'm willing to take a torch to my gas tank just yet... :D

Btw went to the doctors = wasted more money. They said it was nothing.. Go figure. almost as important as freakin cops, instead you pay them to be stupid and unless directly. and a lot more money!

I get dizzy when I'm anemic (low iron- I'm a chick). It's not caused by riding, but riding can make me feel dizzy because of low iron. I don't ride when I'm like that, it would suck to be going into a curve with a dizzy spell. I did go to the doctor... she said, "Your anemic. Take these vitamins." And what do ya know... it went away and I was riding again.

Don't ride if you've been feeling dizzy. Maybe your doc can help you get back riding again.

Best of luck,
Erika

If you get dizzy and hang off the side of your bike you could get your knee down.

I'm a glass-full kind of a guy.

Janx101

yeah go doctor for sure.. If they shrug and say dunno then go to ANOTHER doc etc etc till you get some kind of interest .... But .. Fwiw .. I had been getting light headed and swaying recently at work (moving furniture is my job) .. Tied it down after 2 days as not drink enough water .. Still ..
Go and see doctor or specialist ..
And relax your shoulders too .. Again fwiw

Any condition that causes altered consciousness or lightheadedness is a great reason to see a doctor, and an even better reason NOT to ride while it continues undiagnosed. Could be something simple like low blood sugar or something more serious. Make an appointment.
Ride to live; live to ride.

mister

maybe I am reading it wrong, but it sounded to me like the "balance thing" was not while riding but After.  :dunno_black:

As for IBS and no drugs, I based that on the ads for drugs for IBS we get down here. So I know drugs are made for it.

Yes it has a cause - all ribbing about playing House MD aside. The cause is identifiable. It may take a long while to figure it out, or a short while. Took me six months to track down the cause of a dermatological reaction (drinking the municipal water unfiltered, once filtered the reaction went away). LOTS of people down here developed symptoms of IBS when the fluoride added to the water was too much. After the sudden increase in symptoms appeared in certain areas a quick investigation revealed too much fluoride had been added, the dose was readjusted and most of the people were IBS Symptom free again.

So many things can cause it, the fluoride or chlorine in water (or used to make beer/soda which may be consumed), food additives like 621 and 635, chemicals on fruit & vegetable skins, anti bacterial stuff sprayed on chicken meat, soy added to processed meats sausages and bread, soy based "flavor" added to teas and other foods but just labeled as flavor and so on, vitamin pills and potions, other over the counter or prescribed medicines (which is why I suggest reading the MSDS of all drugs taken to make sure about side effects, symptoms and contraindications) and so on.

And there are non FDA approved things like Threelac which claim to help it. I don't use it (I don't take any drugs or supplements) I just know of it is all. I think it's like a MLM product so take that into consideration.
