Do you want a photo gallery?

I have the domain gs500club dot com.
I'm willing to fork over the money for the software and set up AND HOST a photo gallery at no cost.
The only issue is you will have to register separately for it. Since it is not linked to the GStwins board, your registration would not carry over to it.

Should I set it up?

Maybe GStwins would put the link for it. I think it could be linked to GStwins if they want to do it. At least make a link to it as a sticky.

  Me too!  Not sure how that would all work, but it would be great if pictures could be organized (for mods, how-tos, all that good stuff) and viewers could do a search.

There used to be one - but hasn't worked for a long time.
I can set it up to have categories for mods, etc. Even the ability for you to delete photos you upload by mistake (couldn't delete photos on the old photo board).

Keep the suggestions coming in. We'll start on it and should be up in a few days.

It would be a separate thing, hosted by my company's servers. We are a software company, so we have plenty of server space and bandwidth.

And it would not cost GStwin'rs anything. Just my contribution to the bikes I love. No limit on photos and I think we'll have a video section with categories so you won't have to use youtube unless you want to.

It would not be photobucket and it would not have any advertising (well, maybe this parts whore with extra parts?  )

Please keep those suggestions coming in!

By the way - it is not my intent to replace or compete with GStwins. I just want to give us something we used to have and we all miss. If I could access the old photo gallery, I could migrate it to the new server and software.

Have you tried Matt's Script Archive, CGI Resource Index, etc. to see what's available there for FREE?

I ask out of curiosity only. I wouldn't use it (didn't post pics to the old one) cause I have a Google Picasa account and can pretty well put up as many pics as I want. I also have a Photobucket and Flickr, but often find myself using imgur.com for quickly creating links to pics without needing to log in anywhere or decide which album or whatever I want to put an image.

With the old gallery, I found the most enjoyable photos were of aesthetically modded bikes such as different headlights and the like and customized paint jobs (such as what you've done with Suzi and to some extent Trey and what seamax has done and Jessie and of course Jim Knopf) and those where the background was quite unique. Looking through the old two galleries is what inspired my Sexy video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_qJkZvFEiw

So while I might not add photos (but I might) I'd certain look at photos others added. Don't know if that helps in the decision or not.

I'm not sure if ALL the photos have been archived, but I did check out the main Member's Bikes album and those I clicked on came up.
