So it snowed for the first time here in Holton Kansas.... several inches. Two days ago it was beautiful, and warm enough to go out with just a long sleeve shirt. Last week temps were in the 30s and 40s and I was still riding my GS. I guess its finally time to put some Sta-Bil in the tank and wait for the snow to go away. I might rebuild the carb on my TS and ride it in the snow... yes I know I'm crazy.

Boy you're not kidding, these 65 and 70 degree winter days in central Florida are a Bit-*ch, can't wait till summer so I can take the bike out for a spin.
I'm not a racist, some of my best friends are you people.

i would ride my bikes in the winter in 30f weather. had to dress properly because at 55mph, on either my HD, or my gs, the wind chill would be in the double digit negatives.

I went to Texas for a week over new years... Obviously no snow there, it was my first new year away from Kansas. I had fun and enjoyed the weather. I got back and it was 51 degrees yesterday. That is really odd. I have been around for 19 years and its not usually this warm in NE Kansas in the middle of winter. If it snows again I might have to tie an inflatable turtle to the back of my friends 86 ramcharger and take turns seeing who can hang on longer...

We're having an unseasonably warm winter here too, hovering just below the freezing point...we are usually 10 to 20deg below freezing for daytime highs, and we are getting that for overnight lows...???  and our summers aren't as hot either...there's some weird stuff going on here...can't really call it "Global Warming", but maybe "Climate Change"...our riding season is getting longer, so I'm not complaining!!

Climate Change? The ONLY consistent thing about the climate on this ball of mud for the last billion years or so is, it is NOT consistent. It is the height of human arrogance to think We can change the climate to make it some kind of consistent thing. We cannot. But we can sure get taxed for it  :icon_rolleyes:

I wasn't trying to imply that WE have anything to do with the change...climate cycles naturally on an approximate 100yr cycle, and there is probably a longer cycle but we don't have any data to support that...but I do appreciate the shortening of the winter here in Canada!!

I just want to ride more & work less...maybe I should just sell everything here and move to Central America...cost of living is a fraction of what it is here, and the climate there is much more bike friendly!!

Ice core data suggest a 100,000 year cycle. We are the the peak of the newest 100k year cycle. Only going to go down hill from here - over the next few thousand years.

You're not crazy.  I have a TS 250.  Hey, what a coincidence!  If you don't freeze to death go for it!  Winter hasn't really come here yet either.  No serious snow yet and none on the ground presently.  So far it's the mildest winter I can remember, but Lake Erie isn't freezing so once the air turns cold the no-snow part can change very rapidly!
