HI folks,
I want to update http://wiki.gstwins.com/index.php?n=Upgrades.Handlebars with some current info on good bar upgrades.

Things I would like to add:

1. I vaguely recall that either the type1 or type2 suburban machinery bars dont work well, with 'F' models
(possibly both!)
details on that would be good

2. There are comments in the wiki about various clubman bars, that have vibration problems. It would be nice to hear about ones that DONT have vibration problems. I'll update the wiki with info posted here.
pics would be appreciated too!

Are you referring to the OEM European/Canadian GS500 clip-on bars sold 1990-2000 which are different (slightly) from the 1989 OEM clip-ons? Where we refer to the Euro-Type 1 as OK for the "F" and the others slap the tank unless you bend the bars or shim the clips?

Phil B

erm... no, not refering to clip-ons. but "regular" replacement bars, as pictured on the wiki in the suburban machinery section.
They go through the bar clamps like "normal".

Needs an update regarding the OEM's as well. Avoid the confusion of what works and doesn't work. Cool I found a European parts catalog that actually has part numbers for all 3 types of clip-ons.

I think there was an update on rear sets based on some of my info.
