So what have I missed around here? I want stories!

So what have I missed over the last couple years?  Sure we both had cancer, and the wife was attacked more recently by a dog which caused half of her upper and lower lip to be torn off which required multiple plastic surgeries to repair (and might I add Dr. Repta is a freaking miracle worker).  And I finally graduated college while all of the other crap was going on and working a professional job.  So ya know, we've been busy.  So what has been happening around here?  I have not forgotten you GStwin.com, not have I shirked my responsibilities to at least keep paying the bills.  I can now afford to pay the bills, and DON"T need any donations!  I will keep paying out of my pocket from hence forth.  This is my gift for you GS owners and the fact that the GS made me fall in love with sport bike riding.

Yes I have been absent because my plate has been full and, to be completely honest, my bullshaZam! (edit: I cannot believe my own post got word filtered.  I said bull.sh.it dammit! ) tank was so full, I could not stomach any more responsibility than I have been forced to carry.  I cannot express how much I appreciate Manjul and Pandy and the rest for being 100% trustworthy with the keys to the site, and doing what appears to be a wonderful job.  A job which I do not intend to interfere with.  At this point I would just like to see the site live and continue.

I want stories.  Who died.  Who got married because of this place.  Who got into a fight.  Who left because of butthurt.  Who had a meltdown mentally.  I want a readers digest of the last couple years.  Will you people do that for me.  Make me laugh, cry, and chicken my head in confusion!

woah are you actually the creator is this site?

:nono:

Well...I think Sledge has fallen prey to Alzheimer's or dementia....

Adidasguy has let his part whoring addiction get the best of him. He's built a museum in his basement for all his bikes.

Lots of people have come and gone. I know the Tard Farm was happening for a while. Some guy posted a bunch of nonsense about the mods in his profile and ran off all butt-hurt.

By the way...I'm Kijona.  :icon_mrgreen: Nice to meet'cha.

Edit: Typo. D'oh.

One guy gets really pissed when we call the 1989 OEM clip-on style bars "clip-ons". That's what they're called on the main web page. By the way, there are 2 other variations sold in Canada and Europe through 2000. Onme type actually fits fine on the 2001+ models with the larger tank.

As for add-ons, Woodcraft: pretty much out. Tarozzi: idiots who can't understand the early 80's GSW500E is not the same as the one 1989+. Gimbel: Going strong. Raask: still making rear sets. Renntec and SW Motec still making rear carriers. Nice stuff for bar ends, sliders and etc. from RG Racing. New German company making chrome engine bars. (Just got a set, not installed yet but EXCELLENT quality)

Yes, I am a parts whore. Yes I am an adidas fan and wear nothing but adidas except for some of my bike gear.

JB848 was a real loon but got booted off.
Buddha seems to be a little quieter than he was a year ago.
Airbrush almost out of rear huggers.
I'm now selling GS500 monogrammed stainless chain guards.

We want the photo gallery back. I offered to set one up and host it on my company servers (www.cdesoftware.com). Can still do that if interested.

Oh, and I am a parts whore.

Well. I'm John too, :D Hello, thanks for keeping the forums up.

So this is how I ended up here.. it was 2010, I was in the Arizona desert. Almost outta water. It was 120 degrees. I was losing it, I crawled under a rock to get out of the beating sun. Got bit by a rattle snake, Fell asleep. Thought I was dead. Woke up in a hospital. than a group of aliens we're working on my brain. Re-configuring it. I managed to escape. Killing half of them, Now in 2011 I bought my GS500f. Fighting aliens and desert heat of all kind! Also I fought in the zombie Apocalypse. also WW1/WW2/WW3/WW4 I'm old..

Anyways.. Lol... I'm from Florida, I'm prob one of the youngest ones here. Idk, 17? anyone? I write to much/talk. Currently an employed bum.

also my fish died when I was 11.. I was very upset. Buried him in this little plastic container. put some of his little fish tank rocks inside it.. I was a very sad 11 year old, I loved that fish man! I LOVED IT!

sorry, the last 36 hours I've got only about 4 hours of sleep.. Can't seem to fall asleep, Going a little crazy at this point, Brain Y U NO SLEEP!

Good to hear from you John, Annie was riding a yellow GS500 and you had a SV650 when I first logged on here if my memory still works at all.   :icon_lol:  I was probably the oldest one here back then and must still be since I'll be 80 in a few months.  No longer going 15-20k mile a year and going to the mountains to play, I'm only putting around locally 5-6k miles a year now but I'm still riding every day I can.  Just don't go as far.  Sorry to hear about Annie's dog atack, hope she has made as full a recovery as possible.
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

Went from the SV to a gsx-r600, to a z1000.  I really miss the gixxer.  I don't ride as often as I could and should.

And it was you I was thinking about when I asked "who died."  :icon_lol:  Glad you are still going strong old man!  It is all good now on my end, yes Anne has fully recovered seeing we hit a year after the last procedure.

Nice to have you back! In the last two years I sold my gs, bought an FZ6 and helped it achieve spiritual and physical one-ness with a guard rail post. Then I brought a non-op 1982 GPz 750 back from the dead, and am currently doing the same with a 98 gs500.
1982 Kawi GPZ-750, 1998 GS500.

What's been happening...

Some bloke bailed after being told to Harden The F Up.

An still likes sheep.

We all put milk in our handlebars now - not powdered milk cause that would be silly.

Broken oil filter cover nuts still abound.

Well, we lerned how to boil our carbs !  Do yew know how to boil yer carbs ?  Stick around , we kin teach ya ! Makes a tastee soup ! !

Noticed your avatar. In the past few years, there has been a trend to wear helmets, gloves and a jacket. It makes quite a fashion statement to have all matching gear. Color coordinating it with your bike and it is almost magical or ghey.
