Suggestions for bonding synthetic rubber to metal

Bought a cheap turn signal stalk for a project bike and (big surprise) it is poorly built.  The rubbery stem doesn't want to stay on the metal mount.  I thought about heating the metal and seeing if the rubber will melt to it but that may damage the wire insulation.  Any suggestions on an epoxy that works on metal and synthetic rubber?  JB Weld and hope for the best??  Note to self: Buy OEM parts and you avoid situations like these...

Gaffers tape works also, and its matte black!

I haven't had to make a strong bond of rubber to metal, so I can't say specifically.  But when I have had to join dissimilar materials I have gotten good results by googleing:  i.e. [bond rubber to metal] and you get lots of links to chemical companies who have tackled the problem.

Another thing might be to browse the adhesives shelves at Lowes or Home Depot and find one that lists both materials.

Loctite 406. Sticks anything to anything, then your fingers together for good measure.

If it was me I'd probably just pick up a 2 part epoxy from home depot. I usually try to avoid the quick/5min dry versions, and they usually work. I'm sure JB weld would work too since it does get a little rubbery before it hardens.

K-grip 707 or something similar (landau top adhesive). I have some here (707).   I holds grips on  bars really well.

JB-Qwik I believe it's called. It says it'll specifically bond plastic and rubber to metal.
